Perfect outing on a beautiful October day. The ride was peaceful, charming and good amount of people (15ish). The ride to the winery after was super quick and the tour guides were super friendly, informative and accommodating. Such a small town feel and the beauty was incredible.

Great daytrip from Porto to Douro River Valley. Antonio Cardoso was incredible driver and guide, charming and fun! Easy pick up and return at our hotel in spotless Mercedes and full of stops with vineyard tasting/tour, nice riverside train trip for lovely lunch overlooking the Douro, and thrn boat ride back to car. Antonio even took us for quick detour to beautiful and historic Amarante with it Renaissance church and monastery. I highly recommend 👌

Vasco Andre' was our amazing guide for a full day private tour of the Douro Valley, answering all our question about the region, the towns on the river and on top of the hills, the types of grapes, soils, and wines produced by each, and the people who live and work here. We started the day early at our hotel in Pinhao with a 1-hour boat tour on the Douro River and had the entire boat to ourselves! An hour later when we returned, people were lined up to board crowded boats. A couple of other highlights - we stopped to pick and taste some grapes from the vine and a local farmer stopped by and invited us to his home with a spectacular view and a swing, to taste his homemade port wine. We also stopped at a wine coop in Vasco's home village and visited a local bread bakery using ancient ovens the same way for hundreds of years. Lastly, we finished the day feeling this trip was a highlight of our first visit to Portugal and gave us a unique insider's view of the Douro Valley, its history, and its wines. We highly recommend Grapeland Tours and *** for marketing them so well.


