Reviews: Quanzhou Kaiyuan Temple

For those who enjoy watching period dramas, this is a great place to visit. I recommend rewatching the series beforehand, as stepping into the palace will bring many surprises. The Ming and Qing Palaces are quite large; if you want to explore the whole area, it's best to rent a bicycle inside the park for 200 yuan a day. There are snack vendors inside, so you won't have to worry about getting hungry. There are scheduled performances, including those featuring the Eight Banners and warhorses, as well as the Forbidden City Ceremony, all of which are free. The only exception is the wax museum, which costs 20 yuan per ticket. I spent an afternoon exploring the entire area, adding some performances along the way, and finally felt like I was right there in the dramas. It was definitely worthwhile after watching so many period dramas.
Reviews: Limited-time Offer | Kinmen-Xiamen One-way Boat Ticket (Departs from Shuitou Pier, Kinmen/Wutong Pier, Xiamen)

The experience of purchasing the "Mini Three Links" ferry tickets (Kinmen to Xiamen) was very smooth overall. I booked through the Trip.com app. Advantages: The online booking interface is intuitive, eliminating the risk of queuing on-site. Especially during peak periods (such as holidays or weekends), I strongly recommend booking two weeks in advance to avoid waiting for a seat. 👉👉👉Reminder: If purchasing through a third-party platform, remember to keep your order number or QR code. Ticket redemption on-site is very fast, taking about 2-3 minutes. 👆Price and Value for Money👆 Compared to direct flights to mainland China, the "Mini Three Links" are very competitively priced. 👉👉👉The full-price ticket is approximately NT$750 (for non-Kinmen residents), and the return ticket is approximately RMB 160. For travelers who are not in a rush and want to save money, this is the most cost-effective way to travel between the two sides of the strait. The journey from Kinmen Shuitou Wharf to Xiamen Wutong Wharf takes only about 30 minutes—you'll arrive almost instantly, it's incredibly fast. The ship is spacious and well-air-conditioned (a light jacket is recommended). There's a dedicated storage area for large luggage, and the staff are professional. The sea was calm that day, with almost no rocking. If you're prone to seasickness, this short journey usually isn't a major concern, but it's still advisable to take your medication half an hour beforehand as a precaution.
