My day with Isra was everything I had hoped for and full of superlatives. I was picked up directly from my hotel and was able to shape the entire day exactly the way I wanted. Starting with hundreds of hummingbirds, followed by several amazing bird-watching spots, I got to discover many beautiful, colorful endemic birds together with Isra.
We then took a break and enjoyed some delicious traditional food. I can also highly recommend the chocolate and coffee tour.
I will always remember this day as something truly special.

The address listed as the pickup point is not accurate, but the Google pin that is on the online ticket can guide you to the right spot which is about 209 yards away. Once we figured that out, the rest of the trip was smooth sailing. Our guide was very attentive and helpful. He did a nice job getting us included with an English speaking group. The tour of the equator was much more fun and informative than we thought it would be. You’re free to stay and walk around once the official tour ends. Reserve some time to walk over to the Middle of the Earth Monument. That whole area has little shops and places to eat. Very interesting. That’s also where the tour bus picks you up at for the return trip.★

Reviews: Cotopaxi Full-Day from Quito Including Entrances

This trip was amazing and lead by a very professional guide named Alejandro. I had a lot of questions about this trip ahead of time, so I’m going to try to answer them here for everybody.
Trip started with us being picked up at our hotel and then we stopped at a gas station for breakfast ($4-$6 per person). There were also bathrooms here and a store that you could buy snacks at for your day.
Second stop was at a stand where you could buy coca tea and hoja de coca to prevent the altitude sickness. Our guide was very attentive to everybody’s needs related to altitude sickness.
We then stopped at the Cotopaxi information center where we learned more about the volcano. There is a store here where you can buy last minute supplies for the trek up.
We then drove up to the parking lot, where the trek to the base camp refuge is. This trek is difficult, especially considering the altitude. If you are not well acclimatized, you will experience the effects of altitude sickness. That said, you are encouraged to go at your own pace and you are not required to do the entire trek if it is not feeling good for you.
The bus driver stayed with the bus, so we were able to leave our bags on the bus with him to make the trek easier.
We then went to the lagoon where there were lots of birds, this normally happens before the trek, but we switched it because the volcano had a clear view.
After this adventure we stopped and had lunch ($6 per person).
Overall, you can make this adventure match your body’s needs if you’re concerned about being able to complete the trek.

h the tour components are excellent. Likewise the 2 guides were very knowledgeable and clearly outlined the days activities. I (and another person of the trip) would have appreciated some explanation of the volcanoes in Ecuador along south a description of some of the features we were seeing.★

Reviews: Private Full Day Experience at Papallacta Hot Springs

We booked a day at the Papallacta Hot Springs with LatitudeTripec, through ***. Andrés picked us up at our hotel at the arranged time (he was a few minutes early). We then headed out of Quito towards the hot springs, with a few stops to admire the scenery along the way. Andres is knowledgeable, personable and fluent in English, making for good conversation along the drive.
The Papallacta Hot Springs were truly amazing and the cool air made them even more enjoyable. Andres helped us get checked in and checked on us throughout our soak but allowed as much time in the pools as we wanted. It was a truly relaxing and magical experience.
Supper was at a local, authentic Ecuadorian restaurant. Nothing fancy but the food was delicious.
This tour was the perfect combination of fun and relaxing and I would highly recommend it.
