You read so much about the favelas in Brazil so once you visit, it is a must-do.
We were led by Carlos who is a top guy and from start to finish , was authentic and knowledgeable.
To look down on the rich from the favelas is a mental sea change for many people but it makes sense here.
The bike ride up and then the walk down with well placed stops, makes it an insightful couple of hours.
If you are in Rio, experience it as not everything you want to take home is the singular memory of great beaches.
