Mario was our guide and it was an absolute pleasure to meet him. He is such a nice guy!! All in all it was one of the best tours i have ever made!!! Snorkeling was also very great. We saw lots of fish and corals!

Edgar was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Roatán and its people. He went above and beyond in providing us with a robust experience during the tour, including finding the village historian in Punta Gorda to talk to us. It was really cool to find out more about Roatan from locals! One thing to mention is that Roatan has recently passed laws prohibiting people from handling the monkeys and sloths, so you will be looking at them in a cage or while they’re on top of trees, not interacting with them. It’s still super cute to see them, but just adjust your expectations if you thought you were going to hug a sloth. :-)
Reviews: Roatán: Daniel Johnson's Monkey/Sloth Sanctuary and Snorkel

The excursion was very well organized. We were picked up promptly in front of the cruise ship terminal by our guide, Fortie, and then drove to Daniel Johnson's Monkey Farm. A fantastic experience with monkeys, parrots, and sloths. The parrots and monkeys even climbed onto our arms. They were incredibly cute animals, and the zookeepers were very friendly. Afterward, we visited a chocolate factory and had a tasting in the tasting room. The chocolate factory was very interesting, and the tasting room was okay, but the panoramic view from there would have been amazing. Afterward, we drove back to the port and took a motorboat to a reef. There were lots of fish to see, but unfortunately, the shallow water was quite damaged. Our tour officially ended there, and we asked our driver, Fortie, if he would take us to a nice beach club, which he did for $25 per person, including lounge chairs at West Beach Beach Club. A top-notch excursion!

Fantastic tour. There were only four of us. We were the only tourists at the iguana and monkey enclosure. Our guide even let us stay on the beach for two extra hours. Great guide, great trip.
