What a day! We’ve been there with Andy as our guide, a really passionate guy who knows a lot and tells it with a lot of enthusiasm. He recently joined the team, but he is a real professional and made sure you have a good time.
Reviews: Day Trip to Tikal Maya Ruins Including Lunch

We met at the Maya Walk building in San Ignacio at 6:45am then took a very nice shuttle to the border and were walked across to our guide Christian and driver Walter. They were fantastic! Because it was a very small group (just my friend and myself as it was a weekday in what they call the slow season) they asked if we had breakfast yet. We hadn’t so they said they would stop at the best along the way. They called ahead and had a table all set for us. The traditional Guatemalan breakfast was delicious (not covered by the tour but 100% worth it if they say they have time)! We got to Tikal and Christian did an awesome job answering countless questions and explaining the history! He also gave multiple times for us to explore the different areas on our own as well and did not rush us. We left and had lunch at a beautiful spot on the way back which was very tasty! We made it back to San Ignacio around 4:15pm without a glitch. Would totally recommend this company and these guides!

Our tour guide Marco was amazing and we learned so much. We can’t recommend him, the driver Luis or the experience enough. We will be back to keep exploring.

Length of Visit: accurate to the stated time online. Experience: SO lucky to take this tour. Late December 2025 was raining a lot and ATM was closed due to flooding. Rescheduled to Jan 1st 2026. Slightly late pickup, but smooth ride and knowledgable and nice driver. Van was filled with 9 other people, so 12 people total. We arrived, were briefed, and we were on the earlier side. Our guide was the BEST. One of the few original, older generation guides since 1998. So, so knowledgeable and incredibly amazed to have him as a guide. The cave itself was incredible. One of the best things and well organized touring trips I have ever taken. Very lucky to be able to be in such a rare and special archeological site. The caving experience itself is not for faint of heart. While a majority of the caving is through caverns that feel like vast corridors, there are moments in which it tightens into a few different bottlenecks. If my memory serves me correctly, maybe 5. It ranges from hands and knees class 4 scrambling and stepping through some rocks, to paddling through small channels. At not point was I nervous for my safety, however I need to point out I am a rock climber with more experience than the average attendee. Having basic level of fitness and willingness to get through spaces similar to a children's play place tunnels for short periods. The guides are explaining everything as it happens and all of the rocks felt strong. There is some loose gravel and shifting rocks underwater, but equip yourself with a pair of socks and water shoes (preferably strong sandal, throwaway sneakers, NOT crocs). One precipice was accompanied with a rope and followed with a slightly steep climb in only the socks. What followed was INCREDIBLE, the archaeological sites at the end of the cavern are everything they say it is online. You need to see this. Followed by a delicious chicken and rice with juice. Thank so you so much. This is truly a national treasure and a great company that took us through that journey.

O’Neil was amazing tour guide! His knowledge and insight brought the cave to life. He went the extra mile to make sure we had a good experience and offered to take photos to help us keep these memories.
