It's very practical, but it's a bit of a loss if the railway is operating in winter. Hokkaido has beautiful scenery, but train tickets are too expensive. Using this is more cost-effective if you're visiting multiple places. However, if there's a blizzard and the railway stops, there are no refunds.★

Very easy to use, but might be a bit pricey for those traveling short distances and passing many beautiful tourist attractions. It comes with a cute little pouch for storage.★

I booked a 4-day JR Pass (e-ticket) for the Sapporo-Noboribetsu area of Hokkaido through Trip.com. The booking process was very simple and easy, taking only a few minutes. After successful booking, I received a QR code via email. I simply took the QR code and my passport to the designated location to exchange it for a physical ticket. The staff explained how to use it and what to be aware of. If you're planning a trip to Sapporo, Noboribetsu, or Otaru, this JR Pass is a great option (it saves money and adds flexibility).★

The bus from Otaru to the airport takes about 90 minutes, which is very convenient and punctual. It is an option besides taking the JR train, but there are only two buses a day.
