We had a brilliant cruise. Robert our guide is so knowledgeable and an expert on Arthur Ransome and the stories about the Swallows and the Amazons. We learned about Ransome's life, and the wonderful stories he wrote, many based in the Lake District. His books are for children of all ages, and you are never too old to enjoy Swallows and Amazons! Places connected with the stories were pointed out, most fun for me was seeing Wild Cat Island and the secret harbour. If you don't know what I'm talking about, read "Swallows and Amazons"!!

The best part was the Windermere trip and the cruise ride. We could have stopped at Ambleside, got more time for exploration and photography at Conniston Lake. A 2-hour break for Grasmere would have been ideal.

Every thing exceeded expectations! What a beautiful area to explore while watching our driver, Derek, navigate the narrow roads with cars scraping by with no more than an inch to spare. High adventure on the roads, gorgeous majestic scenery, and cute little furry creatures, treats, and anything Petter Rabbit and friends in the gift shop to take home to remind one of a magical day spent in Beatrix Potter beloved Lake District. Thank you for an adventure I’ll never forget!
