Food is okay, ate till very full. Tea and wine very good. Love the performance, so engaging that we forgot to eat! Performers all very pretty and handsome, dance very graceful and martial art very impressive. Audio quality of the intro video for each dish could have been better. If dont want makeup, the dinner start at 6.30pm, have to message the counter to confirm timing. Quite far from where we stay, have to take 1 hour metro to get there. 3rd row seat might not get full view of performance since sometime will be blocked by pillars but still enjoyable.

Amazing! Beautiful performances and lots of delicious food! I got an SVIP seat, which is the middle of the first row. VIP is the first row. See the entrance in the photo.

We booked through Trip easily. We searched for it using maps along the route. We wouldn't have found it otherwise. We were on Nanjing Street. The restaurant is on the third floor of a large store. We had to wait about an hour to get into the dining room. There's a guy at the counter; you go up to him and take a ticket, sit on a chair, and wait your turn. You can track the queue on the board. When you enter the restaurant, if you've already paid for it and have a voucher, show it so they know you've paid and what exactly you've chosen. Otherwise, they won't know. The food and service are 10 out of 10. Plenty of it, delicious, and, of course, very beautiful and unusual. I recommend it.
Reviews: "Shanghai Imperial Feast: An Immersive Experience of Royal Banquets from a Thousand Years Ago"

First and foremost, this is a restaurant first and foremost. The entertainment program serves as a background and introduction to the dishes. Don't count on a performance; the main thing is the food. Now, about the food: they offer 10 main courses and unlimited appetizers and tea. I'm not sure about the imperial soju; I only tried the first shot because I'm not a big fan of alcohol, but the girls are constantly refilling my glass. You can also order additional drinks from the menu, but for an extra fee. The food is small in portions, but I'm sure even the most gluttonous person (but not Chinese :), which is the main complaint on the Chinese internet) will be satisfied. I ate half a portion and still felt stuffed by the end; about 1.5 kilograms of food in total. The dishes are inspired by the legends of the imperial menu, and everything is delicious. You can pay on site, but only if there's enough space. It will be significantly cheaper, around 320 yuan.
Reviews: Yu Garden New Chinese Tea Experience (Stunning Terrace Views of Yu Garden + Immersive Tea Ceremony + Variety of Tea Snacks + Premium Tea Selection)

Cool experience! I bought the voucher and made my reservation for the next day over the chat. There was a bit of confusion over what I had booked when I got there, but they sorted it out. The woman who did the tea ceremony was very knowledgeable and explained so much about the Chinese attitude to tea and the traditional practices around tasting it and how many times you can brew it. Overall a good tasting experience, just be prepared for a hard sales push after. I had planned to buy some teas but I was not prepared for the price point. It may be because of the tourist area, but these are way more expensive than even the priciest tea sellers I've bought from back home. I didn't know enough to be sure if I was being price gouged, so I only bought the smallest amount. Just be forewarned and enjoy the ceremony!
Reviews: Taste of China - Immersive Experience Package

In short, I almost cried from the emotions I experienced. Gorgeous, beautiful, thoughtfully crafted, delicious!!! I highly recommend this place when in Shanghai. There were so many different dishes. While the dishes at these types of sets are usually small, here each serving was quite generous. We ate our fill! Naturally, there were dishes that surprised us with their taste, both good and bad. But this is China, so for a Russian, it's no surprise that something was "strange." In any case, it was incredibly interesting, vibrant, and unforgettable. Worth every penny. I was also surprised that they had a translation device for our language. We thought it would be English... but it turned out to be Russian!!! Unexpectedly. The waiters speak English well, explain everything, and help. I highly recommend this place!
