Those interested in wooden architecture should definitely check this out; it's excellent. The construction of the brackets and coffered ceilings, in particular, is truly ingenious and exquisite!

My son casually mentioned wanting to go to Shennongjia after finishing his middle school entrance exam. His initial curiosity about the "Yeren" (wild man) led us to embark on a family adventure to explore Shennongjia, a fairyland where culture and nature perfectly blend. The Shennongjia scenic area is vast, divided into several core areas including Shennongding, Dajiuhu, Tianyan, Shennongtan, and Guanmenshan. The distances between these areas are often quite far, taking tens of minutes or even an hour or two by car. Therefore, traveling through Shennongjia requires transportation, either by ourselves or by hiring or renting a car. We contacted a local guide through Ctrip and hired a car to take us around. We spent three whole days visiting all the major attractions. The scenery was truly magnificent and beautiful. We saw clouds, mist, mountains, and primeval forests (let's call them primeval forests for now). The overlapping mountains were often shrouded in white clouds or thick fog (real fog, not smog), with babbling brooks and cascading waterfalls, creating a picturesque scene, like a fairyland. The scenic area offers a package ticket; booking through Ctrip is 5 yuan cheaper than booking directly at the scenic spot, covering several main and essential areas, each with additional attractions of varying sizes. For accommodation, most people stay in Muyu Town. It seems more convenient to stay there when visiting Shennongding Scenic Area, Pingqian Ancient Town (a newly developed area with a high concentration of guesthouses) for Dajiuhu, and Hongping Town for Tianyan Scenic Area, which is closer. This is just a starting point for your reference.

First, perhaps due to the Chinese New Year holiday, a tour guide for the East China route was temporarily assigned, and he was extremely unfamiliar with the attractions we were visiting! His explanations were minimal, practically nonexistent; he was more of a tour leader. I don't want to criticize the guide, but I feel that Ctrip's arrangements were very unreasonable! Second, regarding the last day's itinerary, the website only mentioned "Xikou Scenic Area," but upon arrival, we learned that Xikou is divided into three scenic areas. The guide said our itinerary only included one, excluding other areas like Xuedou Mountain, which wasn't mentioned on the website. How could tourists who had never been to Xikou know this?! Furthermore, even within the "Chiang Kai-shek's Former Residence" scenic area, there were some attractions we unfortunately missed because the guide wasn't familiar with the terrain, didn't allocate time properly, and didn't inform us beforehand. Isn't this a loss for tourists? I hope for a reasonable explanation and resolution! Thank you!

A good experience, can go back and forth in the Vltava River for 1 hour, view the architecture and views of both sides of the river from the river, with a glass of sparkling wine, toast with your loved ones, how romantic it is 🥰

The tour guide was a little lacking. Overall, it was pretty good. We should organize more of these affordable tours in the future!
