I loaded a data-only Trip.com eSim prior to leaving Australia and used it during a 5 day business trip to Singapore. As promised it did not activate until I had landed and logged onto the local network. Everyone uses WhatsApp in Asia so voice comms were easy. Esim works fine, swap to TELKOMSEL in network settings as network usually defaults to the other provider which is very slow.
