great trip, friendly host Stephen who entertained us with stories and facts all day which we greatly enjoyed. the minivan was most comfortable, good seats and great legroom and made it a greatly enjoyed trip. we liked where he took us, including the organic kiwifruit orchard. Stephen was concerned we were happy and checked with us throughout. he provided welcome water and snacks, including gluten free chocolate brownies which was a surprise and complete delight. very good tour and greet host

The tour was incredible! Seeing the glowworms was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and kayaking at night was amazing, too. The local snack spread before we paddled out was delicious and a pleasant surprise.

This excursion was more than just a simple transfer from the cruise port to Hobbiton visitor center. Alan, our driver and guide, was very personable and accommodating. He has great knowledge of the area and shared his expertise with our group throughout the drive to Hobbiton and back. We drove by a few scenic areas near the cruise ship port, saw some fine beaches, and had stops at McLaren Falls and a nearby lake as well as a scenic overlook viewing the beautiful valley where Hobbiton can be found. All in all, it was a very scenic and informative drive into the beautiful North Island of New Zealand. It was nice to leave the driving to Alan!


