Hi-Molu is a professional with 30+year experience.
He showed around and ensured I was safe throughout the trip which is a priority for female adventurers.
I am not a very curious person so let him take me around and show as required.
I would recommend you ask questions or set expectations from the start.
I also had an opportunity to shop at the local factory, felt the prices were high but I am not too aware of the type of silks so gave into the pressure of purchasing 2 sarees :) you may want to plan accordingly. The owner of the shop is soo kind, he will flip the entire store for you.
I was offered free snacks like tamatar chat, chai and lassi which was not included and covered in the plan. Guess I got lucky as I did not have change in most places, pls carry 10s,20s,50s with you handy.
For template Darshan, I was able o skip the queue and cover sugam Darshan for which there was no charge but I ended up paying the pandit who helped me 500, be chanted some mantras so I felt like giving back.
Boat ride was solo and peaceful, I had a very big boat to myself, Molu did call out the type of ghats but I did not dwell into the history and neither did he (worked for me)
Ganga Arti was on a terrace where I got the 3rd seat as the water level was higher at the ghat. An interesting but congested experience, pls ensure to see the ghat one which is open and has lots of space.

We had a great time on our boat ride with our guide Vinod Yadav. He is very knowledgeable about the city, its people and their various customs.
It was a great trip. After the boat ride he took us through the small streets of old and new varanasi. And answered every question we had without judgement or expectation. And we were able to feel a lot closer to the city than we had previously. Many thanks to be able to experience this place and see through the eyes of the many for which this place is important in their pilgrimage.
However it is important for everyone to know. That varanasi's ghats and some of its rituals are about mourning the dead. Which is a very personal journey for the family of the deceased. As a tourist one must remain respectful and a little distant.
How would you feel if you father was being cremated and tourists are shoving camera's down your experience. Our guide shared stories of some disrespect people in the past on our request. And it honestly shocked us. Please be respectful. Your guide will be able to guide you as to what is respectful and what is not. Please dont try to push.
Again. Many thanks. We had a great time. Varanasi is such a place of beauty. And we tried to find it out ourselfs first. But to have a guide guide you it 100x the experience.★

Fantastic tour that went to the parts other tours cannot reach. Went to places we would never have known about and might have been quite daunting without a guide.
The trip to the funery ghat was humbling and really showed the spirituality of Hinduism.★

Prakash was an amazing guide, polite, well-rounded, excellent english level and very well experienced to find the best corners in the magic Varanasi I couldn’t never do it myself alone. I strongly recommend him as a guide to your journey in spiritual Varanasi, what a blast🥰.
