Reviews: Luberon, Roussillon & Gordes Half-Day Tour from Avignon
Guest User2024-06-19
Gordania was the most wonderful host, warm, friendly and welcoming. Her enthusiasm, knowledge and experience of the region gave a richness to the experience, and we learned so much. It was so interesting to learn about the unique ecology of Provence, giving rise to being known as the ‘Garden of France’. Cherries, almonds, apples, truffles, grapes for Cotes de Rhone, all ingredients of Ratatouille; the finest regional specialties. And of course Lavender! We were lucky enough to visit for the first blooms of lavender and we appreciated the photo stop at the beautiful Abbaye de Senanque and a field in full bloom. The scenery was stunning, with stops at a beautiful river gorge, spectacular view of Gordes, and Roussillon. Roussillon was a very enjoyable visit, Gordania very kindly helped us with vegetarian recommendations for lunch in a gorgeous bakery, and we also had the local lavender ice cream - divine! The market was a delight and we had some time to wander and buy gifts. The tour was very comfortable and nicely paced, just right. It has been a stand out experience of our holiday and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the region, especially for the first time. We travelled by train so this was an ideal way to explore the region with no stress. Thank you so much Gordania, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you!
