My experience in Auckland was fantastic! Our guide was incredibly friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. He introduced every viewpoint as we passed through each town, like a lesson in the middle of the journey. Afterward, we went on the Spellbound glowworm and cave tour. The guide explained the formation of the rock formations and caves. Both the caves and the glowworms were amazing! The shimmering glowworms created unforgettable memories. What a wonderful trip!

The glow worms, though not as expansive as some might expect, still provide a breathtaking sight. Their soft, ethereal light reflects off the cave walls and water, creating a tranquil, almost otherworldly atmosphere. Warren’s explanations of the cave’s history, from its formation to its discovery and cultural significance, add depth to the experience. Learning about the delicate ecosystem, the ancient stalactites and stalagmites, and the Māori legends connected to the area makes the journey both educational and awe-inspiring.

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had — hands down. The Down To Earth Glowworm tour was absolutely magical, and our guide Ash made it unforgettable. Ash was not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also so fun, engaging, and genuinely awesome to spend time with. He brought such great energy to the tour, explained everything in a way that was fascinating and easy to follow, and made the whole experience feel special rather than scripted. Seeing the glowworms up close in such a natural, immersive setting was surreal and something I’ll never forget. From start to finish, this tour exceeded every expectation. If you’re even thinking about doing this — do it. I can’t recommend Down To Earth Glowworm Tours (and Ash!) highly enough.


