Wieliczka Salt Mine was our first stop, the place is amazing and to think that everything you see is carved out from salt, there are roughly 800 steps from top to bottom, although they are not all completed in one go as you visit 3 different levels. The first 320 are completed on your initial descent, each 8 steps lead to a platform where you can rest if needed, there are 40 levels to the start of your tour. The guide spoke perfect English, was easy to understand and was very knowledgeable. The levels themselves are inspirational and took centuries to excavate, carve figures and specific locations such as the main chamber. This is a must see when visiting Krackow and is highly recommended.
Auschwitz-Birkenau was our second stop, words cannot describe what you see and feel whilst visiting both of these sites, you must see it yourself to understand. Both of our trips were exceptional due to the knowledge of the local guides and Julia and Michael who were with us from the collection point in the morning to dropping us off at the end of the visits.
The packed lunches are only 40 zoty each and were fantastic, they were even eaten by my fussy children, so a massive thumbs up from them and me.★

Well worth it, the guided tour of Auschwitz’ was very informative and I highly recommend it. Lots of details and information I was not aware of. The Salt mine was also a great tour, the sheer size of the place and the work that was done down there is astonishing. ★

This full day excursion allowed us to experience two UNESCO World Heritage sites in one day. The Wieliczka Salt Mine was a fascinating look into the history of an importance of the mine and the Cathedral was an amazing feat of engineering. While the Auschwitz-Birkenau portion tour was an eye opening heart wrenching look into one of the most horrific events in humanity. Touring the camps will haunt me forever, yet it is important we never forget.
What made our tour even more memorable was our tour driver, Hubert. Not only was he one of the most personable drivers I've ever had, he enjoyed teaching me a few Polish phrases. I would definitely take another tour if we could have Hubert again.
