Reviews: Alluring Kashgar: 1-Day Tour to Pamir Plateau, Karakul Lake, & Baishan Lake

For convenience, I chose this organized trip to make a quick visit to these parts of the Pamirs. There are two stops to visit the two lakes, each lasting an hour. The rest of the trip is a transfer with the usual service stops, but it couldn't be otherwise given the distances involved and the type of connecting road. In any case, it's worth it. I'm Italian and was the only non-Chinese person on the trip, but using my phone's translator was no problem. I obtained the border pass the day before, and the tour organizers contacted me with all the necessary information. Overall, highly recommended for anyone wanting a quick visit to these parts.

Reviews: Urumqi's Backyard! One-Day Tour to Nanshan Ranch, Shenbulake Waterfall, and Wulastai

I went on this tour today and at first I was nervous about it because my Chinese skills are still in progress, but right away the company, our driver, and the other group members made me feel at ease. Everyone included me and they all tried their best to help me understand when my language skills were lacking. Our driver, Mister Chen, was incredibly friendly and he made sure to ask us what we preferred every step of the way. He gave sound advice on suggested activities and allowed us plenty of time to explore each place and take as many photos as we wanted. There was never any sense of being rushed like on big group tours. Mister Chen even bought us a watermelon to share at lunch time which was so thoughtful! If you take this tour, I’d highly recommend you request him! The tour is very well planned and there was clear communication throughout. Overall this was an excellent experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

Reviews: 1-Day Tianshan Tianchi Group Tour in Xinjiang (Chinese-Speaking) - Visit the Alpine Gem Carved by Glaciers

Immediately after booking the tour, I received a message in English via WeChat regarding the tour's meeting place. The guide only communicated in Chinese, so I received messages via WeChat and used translation to understand them. The tour's final stop and disbanding point was "Peacock Oriental City, opposite the Nanhang Pearl Hotel." That's where we dispersed. Those returning towards the Railway Bureau can take BRT Line 1 from the final stop and get off at "Railway Bureau." Since it had been a while since I'd participated in a group tour, I initially felt a little restricted by moving along a set itinerary as a group. However, the guide managed the time well, and their explanations were detailed and easy to understand. All the participants were also very punctual and followed the rules properly, making the sightseeing smooth from start to finish. Ultimately, I think I was able to enjoy Tianchi Lake in the Tianshan Mountains more efficiently and safely than if I had visited individually. Incidentally, I opted for Line 3 and hiked to the summit. I highly recommend it! The final stop was in front of the Orange Hotel (Gangzi Hotel) on Youhua South Road.

Reviews: Urumqi Day Tour: Encounter Nanshan Ranch & Shenbulake Waterfall
Guest User2026-08-10
The organizers handled our WeChat contacts very well. Extremely courteous and helpful. Impeccable service. The driver was a delightful lady, always attentive to our needs. The upgrade to a private tour (there were no other participants) was greatly appreciated! Pickup and drop-off directly at the hotel. The car was brand new, comfortable, and spacious. The places we visited were enchanting, especially the chrysanthemum garden (it wasn't the season, but it was beautiful nonetheless). We were certainly fortunate to enjoy a magnificent, sunny day with just the right amount of freshness. The waterfall is very (too) crowded, the line for the shuttle is long, and they're currently working on new routes near the waterfall, so there are construction sites (not very pleasant). We chose not to go horseback riding. The tour was perfect! The only negative note, which isn't due to the organization, is that there don't seem to be any pleasant restaurants in the area, and the food selection is very limited.
