Tangwang River Waterfront Park
The entrance to the Jiuxin Mountain Treasure Resort is right on the Tangwang River, Yichun's mother river. The Tangwang County government has built a waterfront park along the river. After waking up from a nap, it was still early for dinner, so I took advantage of the sunset to stroll through the park.
The so-called waterfront park is essentially a 666-meter health trail starting from the "Tangwang River, Mother" statue on the east side. It runs westward along the trail, lined with lawns and trees, and decorated with sculptures and small ornaments, along with some fitness equipment. It's a simple park.
Tangwang County has a population of just over 20,000, so the park probably isn't popular. Parts of the trail are overgrown with weeds and appear somewhat abandoned. Besides the few tourists we were, there were no joggers in the park, and even the usual fishermen by the river were few and far between; we only saw one.
Across the river is what appears to be a newly developed residential area, with several single-family villas and a number of residential buildings under construction. Tall cranes stand quietly by the river. I asked local friends, and they told me single-family homes with direct river views are only around 5,000 to 6,000 yuan per square meter, which is a great deal. It's right next to the Tangwang River 5A-rated Linhai Qishi Scenic Area, and the summer weather is very cool. Those with the money to spare might consider buying one.
We went in August, and the temperature was so cool that we even needed to wear long sleeves in the mornings and evenings. The evening sun shone across the grass and river, and a gentle breeze blew across the landscape. The tranquility, leisure, and beauty of the place were a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. However, if you really want to settle down here, you'll need to be able to tolerate some solitude.
