Came here on June 27, 2014.
Only after I came here did I know that there is a first batch of national key cultural relics protection units in Furong Town - Xizhou Copper Pillar. This copper pillar is a historical relic of the peace talks between Xizhou Governor Peng Shichou and Chu King Ma Xifan during the Five Dynasties. This war is recorded in detail in "Zizhi Tongjian", and the details of the peace talks of setting up the copper pillar are recorded in "Old Five Dynasties History" and "New Five Dynasties History".
According to historical records, the Xizhou Copper Pillar was set up in the fifth year of Tianfu in the Later Jin Dynasty (940) and re-erected in the second year of Tianxi in the Northern Song Dynasty (1018). The existing copper pillar should be the original one re-erected in the Song Dynasty. Except for the broken top, it is basically well preserved, especially the inscription on it is clearly legible, which records the course of the war and the content of the oath treaty in detail. It is an important material evidence in the history of ethnic relations in ancient my country, and it deserves to be listed in the first batch of cultural relics protection units.
The Xizhou Copper Pillar has been moved several times in history and is now preserved in the Xizhou Folk Customs Museum at No. 15, Hepan Street Community, Furong Town. Walking along the stone street into the ancient town, you can see the place with the "Xizhou Copper Pillar" hanging on the door lintel after a few steps. It is easy to find. In addition, there is a square called "Boundary Monument Copper Pillar Garden" near Tuwang Bridge, which reproduces the scene of the oath of Peng Shichou and Ma Xifan, which is also worth a look.
