Killarney National Park is located near the town of Killarney in County Kerry, Ireland. It is the first national park established in Ireland. Its predecessor was Muckross Villa, which was donated to the Irish Free State in 1932. Later, the park was greatly expanded. This national park is really too big! It is nearly 103 square kilometers (more than 100 million hectares)! It mainly revolves around a huge lake: Lough Leane. The park is rich in flora and fauna. It has the only native red deer herd in Ireland and the largest existing virgin forest. However, due to limited time, we were unable to visit the entire park in detail. We just stayed in a B&B near the national park and took a walk by the lake when the sun set, which was also an experience of this place.
