Known as the "Princess on the Lake", the TSS Earnslaw steamship (TSSEarnslaw) was born in 1912 - a golden age in the history of steamships including the world-famous cruise ship "Titanic" . Today, as a coal-fired ferry, she has sailed for 100 years and is a fascinating sight on Lake Wakatipu, transporting you back in time and enjoying the gorgeous European style of the early 20th century. During the voyage, you can lean on the railings on the deck and overlook the beautiful lakes and mountains of Queenstown. You can also climb the watchtower to steal the superb steering skills of the captain. You can also sneak into the steam boiler room to understand the operation principle of the steam engine. △ Take a steamer ride on Lake Wakatipu, where you can enjoy the magnificent mountain scenery and the serenity of the lake △ On board, visit the engine room, sailor's cabin art gallery, and listen to songs accompanied by a piano for a taste of turn-of-the-century elegance △ Upon arrival at Walter Peak Highlands Ranch, you can see and feed the farm animals up close, participate in a sheep shearing show and a working sheepdog showQueenstown · 52.2 km from Mavora

The word "Te Anau" in Maori means "cave with whirlpool rapids", which refers to Te Anau caves where glowworms live and is considered "one of the most unusual limestone cave tours in the world" , if you go to the South Island Fiordland region, don't miss it. In the 1940s, the local explorer Lawson Burrows, who was fascinated by the ancient legends of Maori, spent three years exploring various caves in the South Island, and finally found this unique Maori legend on the west bank of Lake Te Anau. Caves that appear in. Brauss crawled into the crevice of the rock and through the entrance, the glow of the countless glowworms in the cave caught his eye. The cave has since become a fascinating spot on the shores of Lake Te Anau. In fact, the Te Anau Glowworm Caves are just the lower layer of an extremely large cave that extends down to Milford Sound, tens of kilometers north of it. The depths of the cave can only be reached by boat, passing large and small waterfalls and whirlpools along the way, and finally reaching the glittering glowworm cave. After a detailed explanation by the guide, the visitors were divided into several groups and entered the cave by boat. The fireflies emit a little blue light, like a sky full of stars, you will feel like you are in an illusion.Te Anau · 35.9 km from Mavora

The Skyline sits on top of Bobt's Peak in Queenstown, a location overlooking downtown Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and the mountains beyond. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the city to the cable car ride point, and take the cable car in the southern hemisphere to the top of the mountain. The sightseeing corridor on the second floor offers a 270-degree panoramic view of the town, and the scenery at sunset is even more intoxicating. The Sky Cable Car is a highly comprehensive attraction. In addition to the view, there is also a very famous restaurant, Stratosfare Restaurant, which was once rated as "the best restaurant in the world" by the ABC. △ Take the cable car to enjoy stunning scenery △ Marvel at the 270-degree view of the mountain and lake △ Explore more exciting experiencesQueenstown · 52.4 km from Mavora

Shotover Jet Queenstown is the iconic speedboating experience in Queenstown, operating continuously in the Shotover Canyon since the 1960s and having hosted millions of travelers. It is also the only commercial speedboat company permitted to operate in this section of the canyon river. The river channel was formed by years of erosion from rapid currents, with nearly vertical rock walls on both sides enclosing the water surface. Located less than a ten-minute drive from Queenstown town center, it is now owned and operated by the local Māori tribe, Ngāi Tahu, whose ancestors once traveled this waterway to gather food and greenstone. The bright red speedboats are locally built in Queenstown, specifically designed for the canyon river. Each boat can carry over ten passengers and is powered by twin V8 engines, using jet propulsion for movement, steering, and control—allowing it to skim at speeds of nearly 90 km/h in water as shallow as approx. 10 cm. The entire experience lasts approx. 25 minutes, featuring continuous sharp turns and cliff-hugging maneuvers from the moment you depart the dock. Skilled drivers take you at high speed through whitewater rapids and tight bends, performing thrilling close-to-the-wall stunts, including the signature 360-degree spin at full throttle, sending water splashing into your face as if the boat has lifted off the surface. Life jackets and storage lockers are provided on board. As the spins generate significant splashes, it is advisable to prepare to get wet. During colder seasons, extra attention to warmth is recommended.Queenstown · 56.5 km from Mavora

167 reviews
RealNZ | Walter Peak High Country Farm is located on the southwest shore of Lake Wakatipu on New Zealand's South Island, facing Queenstown across the lake. Visitors typically take a boat from Queenstown wharf, with the approximately 45-minute lake cruise itself being a scenic journey. This highland farm has been settled by European immigrants since the second half of the 19th century, with its peak period spanning tens of thousands of hectares of pasture and tens of thousands of sheep. The Colonel's Homestead by the lake, built in 1902 with white walls and a red roof surrounded by garden lawns, resembles a fairytale castle from afar. The farm maintains authentic highland ranch activities: travelers can hand-feed shaggy Scottish Highland cattle with curved horns, as well as merino sheep, alpacas, and red deer; watch trained sheepdogs expertly herd flocks on the slopes, then catch a traditional sheep-shearing show at the outdoor theater. Those who enjoy riding can join a guide for a leisurely ride along the lakeside peninsula. After exploring, visitors can relax at the lakeside café with freshly baked English scones and hot tea. Backed by Walter Peak and facing the azure lake, the farm offers panoramic views of Queenstown and surrounding mountains - perfect for family-friendly outings and travelers seeking authentic New Zealand farm culture. As mountain weather changes quickly, remember to bring a windproof jacket.Queenstown · 52.2 km from Mavora

In New Zealand, people call lakes that perfectly reflect the reflections of the mountains and forests on the lakeside "Mirror Lakes". Located 56 kilometers north of Te Anau and beside Highway 94, Mirror Lake is called Mirror Lakes in English, and the accurate translation is "Mirror Lake Group". Following the trail hidden in the dense forests of the valley, I came to the edge of Mirror Lake and finally saw its beauty: several unnamed small lakes (more like small ponds) with a diameter of 20 to 30 meters, connected together to form the beautiful landscape of Mirror Lake Group. Because the area is not large, there are no waves. The towering mountains on the opposite bank and the dense water plants on the lakeside are clearly reflected on the mirror-like lake surface, like a series of quiet ink paintings, which really has a certain charm. Tips: Starting from Te Anau, follow Highway 94 to Milford Sound, the whole journey is 120 kilometers and the drive takes 2 hours. New Zealand's management department has made full use of the natural scenery resources along the way to develop tourist attractions such as Mirror Lake, Monkey Creek, and Arlington Valley, and built parking lots, sightseeing trails, viewing platforms and other facilities. Each attraction can be visited for 15 to 30 minutes. Passing vehicles stop here, which can not only prevent drivers from driving fatigue, but also help drivers and passengers visit here, achieving multiple goals at one stroke and being very humane.

A very unique steamship, still providing excellent service despite being over a century old. There are Chinese staff on board, and the buffet restaurant on the other side is quite good. Enjoy a relaxed and pleasant time in Queenstown.

If your English listening comprehension is good, listening to the explanation and experiencing the whole process can be a unique experience. However, if your companions don't speak English and you weren't assigned a Chinese explanation, then you'll have to be good at translation, or the experience will be significantly diminished. Overall, it was just average, nothing particularly amazing.

Skydiving is super fun, 15,000 feet, the free fall feels like life is free! The package comes with a handheld camera, with photos and videos. After the jump, it will be sent directly to your email for you to download. It takes about 20 minutes to drive to the base.

The Skyline Gondola is the highest point in Queenstown, offering panoramic views of the town and the lake, a completely different experience from looking down from below. Lunch was also a good experience; the lamb chops were delicious. Many people say the menu isn't extensive, but most restaurants there serve similar dishes, so they're generally not that different. The main advantage was that I got a buy-one-get-one-free ticket, so lunch was essentially free.

Lake Wakatipu is the third largest lake in New Zealand. In addition to its beautiful scenery, it is also the center of New Zealand's outdoor activities. Mountain skiing, surfing, parachuting, jet boats, whitewater kayaking are all available here. The world-famous bungee jumping first emerged here.

The environment is very dreamy. I think it is worth the money. But the bad thing is that children are not allowed to enter at night. I don't know why. But overall it is still a good experience.
