Vanalinn is a remarkably well-preserved medieval city on the Baltic Sea and was once an important trading port of the Hanseatic League. In the Lower Town, centered around Raekoja plats, the Gothic Old Town Hall stands on one side of the square. St. Olaf's Church, with its spire over 100 m high, the Three Sisters houses with their three connected gables, and the Town Hall Pharmacy, which has records of operation dating back to the early 15th century, are all scattered throughout this area; a few minutes south of the square is St. Nicholas' Church & Museum, which is now a museum of religious art; the late medieval masterpiece "Danse Macabre" housed inside is particularly worth a stop. The higher Toompea Castle area, also known as the Upper Town, features the onion-domed Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the Cathedral of Saint Mary the Virgin standing side by side, which, together with the ancient castle, outline the skyline. The medieval-style doors, windows, and hanging signs along the streets are details that many people easily miss. The preserved ancient city walls stretch for nearly 2 km, connecting one circular tower after another, offering a different perspective from the top of the wall. Walk to the Kohtuotsa and Patkuli viewing platforms on the edge of Toompea, where red-tiled roofs layer upon layer spread out toward the Baltic Sea.Tallinn · 41.3 km from Padise

Temppeliaukio Church

Temppeliaukio Church, also known as Temppeliaukio Church, is located in the Temppeliaukio Square in the center of Helsinki. Designed by the architect brothers Suomalainen, it is one of the few churches in the world built into solid rock and a must-see attraction in Helsinki. Historical background Temppeliaukio Church was designed by the Suomalainen brothers and completed in 1969. As early as the 1930s, a church design competition was held here but was interrupted by the outbreak of World War II. After the war, the brothers' proposal won the public competition, ultimately turning the blueprint into this rock-embedded building. The beauty of architecture When you stand outside the church, what catches your eye is a massive rock, with no visible spire or bell tower typical of most churches. You might not even notice the church's presence, as only a light blue copper dome over 20 m in diameter is exposed atop the rock. This is because the church was built inside a giant rock—the rock was hollowed out, and a glass ceiling was constructed above to allow natural light, while the church's outer walls are the rock itself. The church entrance is designed as a tunnel, with its inner walls still made of the original rock. The entire church resembles a landed UFO, creating a very peculiar sight. The roof features a dome design supported by a hundred radial beams, with transparent glass inlays that allow natural light to illuminate the space, making it hard to tell you're inside a rock. The church can accommodate hundreds of people. It holds services on Sundays and is also a popular venue for local weddings, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. Additionally, thanks to the echo effect of the rock walls, the church boasts excellent acoustics, making it a frequent choice for concerts.Finland · Helsinki

The Tallinn Town Hall, built in the early 14th century, is located next to Raekoja Plats, a Gothic building. Since 1530, the roof of the town hall has stood the symbol of Tallinn - the guardian Thomas, when you climb to the top, you can overlook the whole city. In June every year, it is the Old Town Festival (OldTownDays), which usually lasts for 4 days. There will be many vendors in the Town Hall and the square next to it, and several concerts, dances and medieval themed carnivals will be held.Tallinn · 41.4 km from Padise

Baltic Sea

Baltic Sea is a semi-enclosed sea in Northern Europe, located between the Scandinavian Peninsula and the European continent, and connects to the North Sea via the Danish Straits. It is a young inland sea formed by water accumulation after glaciers retreated. Its salinity is far lower than that of the open ocean, making it a typical brackish sea. The average water depth is only tens of meters, with only the deep trenches near the coast of Sweden reaching over 400 m. Shallow waters, small waves, and salinity stratification make it more like a vast inland lake. Departing from Stockholm by boat, you can sail into the Stockholm archipelago, which features tens of thousands of islands and reefs. Sailing and island-hopping by ferry are classic local leisure activities. To the southeast, Gotland Island features uniquely shaped limestone rocky coasts and the well-preserved medieval town of Visby. The Åland Islands have flat terrain, suitable for slow travel by bike and ferry from island to island. This area was once a major shipping route during the Viking Age; a large number of Viking silver artifacts have been unearthed on Gotland Island, and many port towns along the coast still retain traces of the maritime era. In summer, the white sandy beaches stretching along the southern coast are suitable for sunbathing and water activities. Kayaking, diving, and coastal hiking are all popular, and many visitors swim once the water warms up. In the fall and spring, coastal wetlands and bays welcome flocks of migratory birds, attracting many birdwatchers who come specifically for this. The low-salinity environment nurtures fishery resources such as herring and cod, and many places along the coast have preserved traditional flavors featuring herring.Sweden · Stockholm

Vanalinn, Tallinn’s Old Town, is a beautifully preserved medieval quarter that feels like stepping into a storybook. Cobblestone streets wind past colorful merchant houses, Gothic churches, and hidden courtyards, all encircled by impressive stone walls and towers. Town Hall Square is the lively heart, perfect for soaking in the atmosphere from a cozy café. Climbing Toompea Hill offers panoramic views over red-tiled rooftops and the Baltic Sea. By day, it’s a treasure of history and architecture; by night, lantern-lit streets create a magical charm. Vanalinn is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic medieval ambiance with a vibrant modern twist.

İşte Reels’e uygun, biraz daha uzun ve akıcı bir İngilizce açıklama:⛪ Rock Church (Temppeliaukio Church)One of Helsinki’s most remarkable landmarks, the Rock Church is carved directly into solid granite, blending nature and modern architecture in a truly unique way. The copper dome fills the interior with beautiful natural light, while the exceptional acoustics make it a popular venue for concerts. Peaceful, timeless, and unlike any other church, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor. 🇫🇮✨

The interior decoration of Tallinn Town Hall is as simple as its exterior architecture. There are two halls that are worth seeing. The Civic Hall was where banquets were held and city laws were read in the Middle Ages. Today, it is still used for receptions and concerts. The walls of the hall are freshly painted and very bright. There are not many decorations in the hall. The most eye-catching one is the knitted tapestry hanging on the wall, which depicts the life of King Solomon. A careful appreciation of these tapestries shows that the characters are dressed quite noble and their movements are extremely elegant. The whole picture is very harmonious and charming, very similar to the international Gothic art style popular in the late Middle Ages. The Parliament Hall is where the city council gathers to discuss local laws and regulations. Many of the oldest decorations are preserved here. However, the door of the hall was produced by the Tallinn Grand Piano Factory. It is black and varnished, just like a piano cover. There is also a 15th-century wooden carved bench in the hall, covered with a piece of velvet cloth, and decorated with exquisite hollow carvings on both sides of the bench, which is the oldest wood carving artwork in Estonia. In general, the decorations preserved inside Tallinn Town Hall are not as cool and charming as those in other major European city town halls. However, as the only Gothic town hall left in several Nordic countries, it is also a window to peek into and understand Tallinn's medieval art.

The Baltic Sea is very beautiful, and the water is particularly clear. We arrived here in the evening. There were not many people and it was a little cold, but the scenery was very good. It was also a very good scenery to enjoy the Baltic Sea under the sunset.
