Things to do in Pengshui County

The section from Wanzu to Gongtan Ancient Town boasts the best scenery in the Wujiang River basin and is one of the most attractive tourist attractions in Pengshui. Experience firsthand the breathtaking panorama of two mountains flanking a river, boats gliding on the water, and people traveling through a painting.

It's not far from the old county town; a taxi ride will cost around 9 yuan. In the afternoon, there are performances like "walking on knives and fire" and lion dances. Some spots are closed, such as the Miao King's Palace. The evening is a great time for taking photos. It's about a 2-hour and 20-minute drive from downtown Chongqing.

Pengshui Ayi River offers a fantastic experience! The canyon is picturesque with clear waters and lush greenery. The rafting trip is divided into gentle and rapid sections, allowing you to leisurely enjoy the scenery while experiencing the thrill of whitewater rafting – a truly exhilarating way to cool off. Along the way, you can also enjoy captivating Miao ethnic folk performances, with melodious Miao songs and dances creating a vibrant atmosphere and immersing you in the unique charm of the Miao region. The scenic area boasts comprehensive facilities, combining stunning natural scenery with cultural performances, making it suitable for both groups of friends and short trips – definitely worth a visit.

Very magical place, especially seeing it in real life after watching the transformer movie, went on the day when it is cooling which made the trip there much more enjoyable

It was a worthwhile trip! There was no wind that day, so I didn't need a raincoat at the crevice; an umbrella was enough. I recommend going on a sunny day for a more beautiful view. Regarding transportation, after arriving at Wulong South Station, head straight to the exit for the shuttle bus. It costs 16 yuan per person and takes about 45 minutes to reach the visitor center. Then take a shuttle bus to the Sansheng Bridge. After visiting the Sansheng Bridge, you can take another shuttle bus from the exit to the crevice. After visiting the crevice, take the bus back to Wulong South. We arrived at Wulong South around 8:50 AM, reached the Sansheng Bridge at 10:00 AM, took a bus from the crevice exit around 2:40 PM, and arrived at Wulong South around 4:00 PM. Finally, we took the G2436 train departing at 4:47 PM back to Chongqing. It was a leisurely trip overall.

I don't quite understand why some people say it's not exciting, maybe it's because they came during the dry season. We played the last section today and it was so scary. The rapids were so strong that the boat was not controlled well and capsized. Fortunately, we arrived at the end smoothly with the help of the safety officer. I would like to praise a fat safety officer who saved us today. It was around 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Other safety officers saw that we capsized and didn't come to help. Only this fat guy came to help us in time. I wanted to praise him specifically for the scenic area management at the end, but I couldn't find a suitable place to report it after leaving the scenic area. I hope that this comment can be seen by the scenic area management.

Beautiful place. Wonderful experience. But beware the cave has many ups and downs and rather slippery footing because of the dampness of the cave. An awesome inspiring scenery but nonetheless be prepared that children and elderly should be wary of entering if not monitored closely or fit for physical activity.

The average altitude is 1200m, and the highest peak is 1616m. There are natural landscapes such as stone forests, grasslands, virgin forests, and dangerous passes. You can watch the sunrise and sunset, the rolling clouds, and look for wild fruits. You can enjoy the snow in winter and escape the heat in summer.

Definitely worth a visit to step away from the city for a little bit 

Chongqing, this mountain city, offers a fantastic experience! The night view of Hongyadong is dazzling, the scenery along the two rivers is incredibly atmospheric, and the 8D magical city is truly unique. The hot pot is spicy and flavorful, and the noodles and snacks are authentic and delicious. The locals are warm and friendly, the streets and alleys are full of life, there are many photo spots, and the trip is very pleasant and well worth visiting.
