San Juan National Historic Site is an important historic site that preserves military defensive architecture from the Spanish colonial period. As San Juan is located near important Caribbean shipping routes, Spain began building fortifications here in the 16th century to protect the port and trade routes to and from the Americas. The site primarily includes Castillo San Felipe del Morro, Castillo San Cristóbal, Fortín San Juan de la Cruz, and parts of the city walls surrounding the old city. Visitors can explore the ancient forts, batteries, sentry boxes, and city walls to learn about Puerto Rico's colonial history, military defense systems, and the historical evolution of the Caribbean region.Puerto Rico · San Juan

In the daytime, this is an unremarkable sea; but in the dark night without the moon, miracles sometimes appear on the sea surface: little by little, one after another, a piece of fluorescence lights up, as if the stars have fallen into the water, as if The Milky Way pours into the sea. In "Mosquito Bay" on Vieques Island, Puerto Rico, in the northwestern Indian Ocean far from the coast, and in Toyama Bay in the central and northern part of Honshu, Japan, the fluorescent sea that only appears in fantasy dreams appears in front of you. .Puerto Rico · Vieques

Vieques Island

Vieques Island

4.4
This is a beautiful island with a hilly terrain covered with lush tropical vegetation, including palm trees, mangroves and wild fruit trees, surrounded by white sandy beaches and azure blue waters. The island is famous for its pristine beaches, bioluminescent bays and complex history. It is not only an eco-tourism destination, but also a symbol of the Puerto Rican people's resistance to military occupation. The eastern and western parts of the island were once military training areas for the US Navy. 70% of the land on the island is undeveloped. Today, most of the area has become a national wildlife refuge, home to endangered species such as leatherback turtles and hawksbill turtles. Vieques is an island that combines rich historical heritage and natural beauty. It is an ideal place to experience Puerto Rico's culture and natural scenery. Whether it is tourists who want to explore ancient civilizations or people who are looking for a quiet beach vacation, they can find their own fun here.Puerto Rico · Vieques

Castle San Cristobal is a magnificent military fortress located in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico. As one of the largest fortifications built in the New World during the Spanish colonial period, it has not only witnessed the changes in the Caribbean region for centuries, but also has become an important part of the San Juan National Historic Site with its unique architectural design and strategic value. The castle consists of five separate fortresses that are connected underground. This decentralized yet unified structure enhances its defensive resilience. The castle is nearly 45 meters above sea level and occupies most of the northeastern part of Old San Juan. It overlooks the city and its surrounding areas from a high altitude. These sentry boxes are not only military observation points, but now also a good place for tourists to enjoy the beautiful scenery of San Juan Bay and the Old Town. As one of San Juan's iconic landmarks, Castillo San Cristobal will continue to stand in the Caribbean sun, telling the world the colorful story of Puerto Rico.Puerto Rico · San Juan

Located on the edge of the Central American Islands, La Fortaleza and San Juan National Historic Site was built in 1511 as a military base to protect the Spanish colonies and is of great strategic significance. La Fortaleza and San Juan National Historic Site is a typical military building complex that combines European military architectural styles with the actual conditions of the ports on the American mainland.

Beautiful beach, tourists in groups of three or two, lush trees, and the whole day was very relaxing here, but the sun on the beach is not small, so pay attention to sun protection, otherwise it is easy to get sunburned.
