Lizhong Water Forest Park is a man-made ecological forest where various trees adapted to living in water, such as the pond cypress and dawn redwood, are planted. Economic products like taro and rapeseed are grown among the trees. The more than 10,000 pond cypresses, dawn redwoods, and other trees planted here have already matured into a dense, vigorous, garden on the water. Hop a wooden raft to shuttle through the waterways and view the many trees growing up out of the water. It is an eyeful of green, this natural oxygen bar, and a great place for city dwellers to get back to nature.Xinghua · 17.8 km from downtown

According to legend, the Qianduo Scenic Area represents the mysterious and powerful military formation created by General Yue Fei in the 12th century. Here, farmers' fields of all different sizes rise up out of the wetland, disconnected from each other. Crisscrossed and surrounded by waterways, they are unreachable except by boat. Each separate field is like an island floating on the surface of the water. Every year around the time of the Qingming Festival (early April), the canola flowers bloom. The “golden islands” create a stunning sight with their explosions of yellow under the blue sky, outlined and crossed through by the clear, blue water.Xinghua · 13.8 km from downtown

Fengcheng River Scenic Area

Fengcheng River Scenic Area is a moat that surrounds the ancient city of Taizhou in a rectangular shape. The main attractions are concentrated in the southeast corner, primarily featuring the Wanghai Tower area on the northern bank and the Taoyuan (Peach Garden) scenic area on the southern bank. Both sides of the river are lined with green willows and dotted with cultural structures, making it a pleasant experience to stroll along the riverbank or take a cruise. At night, the illuminated scenery adds to the charm. The Wanghai Tower area on the northern bank centers around Fengcheng River's Wanghai Tower, originally built during the Song Dynasty and reconstructed in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Visitors can climb the tower for panoramic views. To the west lies Wenhui Hall, featuring statues of Fan Zhongyan and Teng Zijing. Further north, you'll find the Zhoucheng Ruins, an ancient city plaza with engraved ground reliefs, and a stele garden displaying inscribed poems praising Taizhou. On the southern bank, the waterside pavilion pier in Fengcheng River's Taoyuan is an ideal spot for sightseeing. The core attraction here is Chen'an, a Ming-Qing style complex with three courtyards furnished with antique furniture. Inside, exhibits detail Kong Shangren's *The Peach Blossom Fan*, Zhong Zhenkui, and Taizhou's opera history. West of Chen'an is a stone boat, while to the north stand attractions like Qingfeng Pavilion and Laifeng Tower. The southern Peach Blossom Island is covered in peach trees, creating a stunning sight in spring. North of Taoyuan lies Mei Lanfang Park, where the Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall showcases the life and art of the Peking Opera master through artifacts and documents. West of Taoyuan is the Traditional Chinese Architecture Culture Museum, displaying cultural relics such as Luban rulers and compasses. The scenic area offers cruises, including pedal boats and electric boats, with fees ranging from CNY 30–40 depending on the vessel. For a more picturesque experience, opt for a night cruise—departing from Taoyuan Pier, the route passes Yingchun Bridge, Mei Garden, Liufang Teahouse, and Guandi Temple before returning. Other attractions include Fengcheng River's Imperial Examination Hall and Qiao Garden. Adjacent to Taoyuan's eastern side is Taizhou Old Street, built in Ming-Qing style. Here, visitors can shop for souvenirs and savor local delicacies like grass-oven baked cakes, Taizhou dried tofu shreds, and Qinhu Lake's "Eight Delicacies." If you prefer a leisurely stroll, you don't need to purchase an admission ticket—many riverside greenbelts are open for walking, and at night, you can admire the illuminated cruises gliding along the water.Taizhou · 3.3 km from downtown

It is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the south, Rugao in the east, and Jiangyan in the north. Huangqiao has historically been known as a water hub that "divides Huaiwa in the north and connects with Jiangchao in the south". Across the border from Huangqiao, the New (Yi) Chang (Xing) Railway has a passenger and cargo marshalling station in Huangqiao. The Yellow Bridge has a long history and is rich in humanities. There are more than 2,000 well-preserved Ming and Qing buildings in the Yellow Bridge, and a small number of Song Dynasty buildings. Wanghai Tower was first built in the Song Dynasty and rebuilt in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is known as the "No. 1 Tower in Jianghuai". The current Wanghai Tower inherits the architectural style of the Song Dynasty. The exterior has a three-story corridor. The main colors are chestnut and blue-gray, which are simple and elegant. Compared with historical records, the specific form is taller and more magnificent, with smooth and beautiful lines, elegant and refined expression techniques, and a harmonious and consistent style with the existing ancient buildings in Taizhou. Wenhui Hall in the west of the building was originally built by Teng Zijing in the Northern Song Dynasty. It lists the five prime ministers Yan Shu, Fan Zhongyan, Fu Bi, Han Qi and Lu Yijian who served in Taizhou during the Northern Song Dynasty and later became prime ministers. A "Five Prime Ministers Tree" is planted in front of the hall. A bronze statue of Fan Zhongyan made by Wu Weishan, the president of the Chinese Sculpture Institute, is erected. In addition, the thousand-year-old ruins of Taizhou City and the ancient Songcheng Han in the Attraction fully demonstrate the glorious history of Taizhou "the state was built in the Southern Tang Dynasty, the Wenchang was in the Northern Song Dynasty, and the famous city and famous officials were intertwined".Taizhou · 2.9 km from downtown

A small stream flows by the side of the square, with a waterwheel in the stream, which is quaint. The lush forests and verdant waters complement each other perfectly, creating a truly wonderful natural oxygen bar. When I visited the park that day, a light drizzle was falling, and a gentle breeze made me feel as if I were swimming in a clear, cool oxygen bar. Without the sun's rays, that feeling of coolness is something you can't experience anywhere else.

I took advantage of the weekend break and drove with friends to Zhenhu Lake in Taizhou to relax. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city and breathing in the fresh air, I felt much more relaxed. I even saw some Père David's deer up close. I think this trip was really great!

The rapeseed flowers are especially spectacular when they bloom, and there are many photo spots set up. However, the ladies on the tour boats seem to be trying to earn tips, which is a bit shady. I hope the scenic area will strengthen its management.

The ancient town is very old, with ancient camellia and banyan trees. My child, just over 1.4 meters tall and wearing sneakers, was charged at some attractions, but was allowed to pass through Zhenhu Lake without paying. Another unique feature of Taizhou is its paid parking; street parking is also quite expensive, especially during holidays.

Meiyuan Garden, located on the banks of the Fengcheng River on the east side of Taizhou's old city, is a garden commemorating Mei Lanfang. It attracts many tourists during holidays and is one of Taizhou's most visited attractions. Transportation is convenient, with multiple bus lines nearby. The Taizhou Old Street commercial area is directly opposite, offering plenty of food and drinks. There is a parking lot at the entrance, but spaces are limited and are usually full of tour buses during holidays.

The night view of Fengcheng River is really great. There are opera performances on the shore from time to time, which inherit the artistic culture of Master Mei Lanfang. It is also very pleasant to walk around Taoyuan next to the old street at night.

You must visit Taizhou Old Street. Although it is just a commercial street now, you can see antique buildings everywhere. It is very artistic. The Morning Tea Museum is small but exquisite. It introduces Taizhou's traditional morning tea and bathroom culture. I learned a lot. Taoyuan is also free now. There are many entrances and exits connected to the old street. The ancient salt canal wharf is also very close to the back door of the old street. You can check in together and have fun.

The garden is quite nice, a typical traditional residence with a courtyard and back garden, indicating that Zheng Banqiao came from a relatively well-off background. Located in a prime area of the city, it boasts convenient transportation and is ideal for tourism. The surrounding old town and many smaller attractions can be visited together; a combined ticket is available at an affordable price.

It's excellent, taking about 30-40 minutes in total. It covers Taizhou's history, river culture, people, and opera culture. You can also see performances on the shore, including "The Drunken Beauty" and a performance by Mei Lanfang. A few things to note: it gets crowded, so there may be queues. Once full, it leaves, and those who arrive later board another boat to ensure everyone gets a ride.
