If you haven't heard of "Tokoname ware", then you must know about the maneki neko. Tokoname City, which is famous for firing ceramic products, is also the hometown of the maneki neko. Coming down from the airport highway, you can see the huge maneki neko waving from a distance. Tokoname even has a maneki neko street, with various maneki neko decorations displayed on both sides. The small town of Tokoname is built on small hills, and the "ceramic promenade" runs between these hills. Almost all the streets and factories in Japan are marked with "Tokoname", and even the sparrows here are blackened, so that when the children of Tokoname go to the neighboring villages and towns to play, they are very surprised to see the sparrows that are not black. But now these chimneys are just attractions, and the firing of ceramics in Tokoname has changed from industrial production to craft creation. Along the promenade, you can see many personalized shops selling home-made ceramic artworks. These works have both the gentleness of traditional Japanese style and the individual modern style. Art is the encounter between people and things, and those works are waiting for the fate between visitors. The Tokoname Ceramics Hall has the most ceramic works, of course, and artists put their works here for consignment. There are also various lucky cats in the hall, some raise their left hands, some raise their right hands, and some raise both hands. The secret is: the left hand attracts people, the right hand attracts wealth, and those who raise both hands high have both people and wealth.Tokoname · 669m from downtown

It is next to Legoland, but we couldn't arrange it on the same day. We went there the next day. It's 20 minutes by subway from the famous station, not very far. Friends who stay at Lego Hotel can visit this exhibition hall in the afternoon of the day they check in. It is definitely a heaven for kids who love trains. The first thing to do when entering the museum is to go to the counter in the main exhibition hall to make an appointment for the maglev train driving experience. When we played here in the morning, it was already after 3 pm. It only costs 100 yen to drive an ordinary train. At the end, you will be given a certificate, which will comment on the driving situation. The kid played twice. The second time the car did not stop at the designated place and pulled the handbrake. The certificate taught him to practice more. It was so funny 😄 The restaurant on the second floor sells train bento for lunch, which is also super popular. When we went there, we bought the last box of N700 train bento. The one for car No. 0 was gone.

Take the Meitetsu train to Tokoname Station, exit from the East Exit and walk 10 minutes to the destination. You will pass through residential areas along the way, so please remain quiet. If you are carrying large luggage, it will be a bit troublesome because the coin lockers at Tokoname Station are small or medium-sized and cannot store suitcases; and the last section of the road to the lucky cat is very slanted and narrow, and there are several steps. The ideal time to visit this attraction is from Monday to Saturday, as the ceramic classrooms, ceramic shops, etc. are closed on Sundays. If you want to eat at nearby restaurants, the choices are limited.
