Things to do in Tulear

This is a small private botanical garden with a restaurant attached. We first toured the botanical garden and the guide was very knowledgeable about the different trees and plants, for example telling us how to tell the difference between a false baobab and a true baobab. There are a few baobabs, but since they are fairly young in baobab terms, they are still small. They have a large number of spiny forest trees and other endemic plants. There are lots of geckos around, and also birds. Afterwards we ate at their restaurant.

We originally planned to spend two full days here, but due to the cancellation of the Air Madagascar flight, we ended up with only one day left. What a fulfilling day it was. Our excellent guide Ludo decided to fit the two days into one day and we saw a lot - lemurs, birds, chameleons and even a fossa (some kind of mammal). I wish I could stay here longer. Maybe we weren't here during peak season, but there were a lot of times when we were the only ones here, which was very special.

Iruza Park is a national park of primeval forest on the island of Madagascar. There are towering mountain cliffs here, which are very majestic. In addition, it is also a paradise for animals and plants. Many precious mountain wild animals live here. You can easily see macaques, lemurs, lizards, etc. here. It is really worth a visit.
