Things to do in Tuquan

Located in Arxan City, Xing'an League, Inner Mongolia, the Arxan Unfrozen River is a 20-kilometer-long stretch of the Halaha River. Due to its abundant geothermal heat, the river never freezes even in temperatures as low as -40°C or even -50°C, earning it the name "Unfrozen River." On a winter's blanket of snow, when everything seems tucked away in a tranquil slumber, a hidden gem quietly blossoms with its own unique vitality and energy—the magical Arxan Unfrozen River.

The buffet was very generous, the service was warm and friendly, and the food was delicious. I was alone, so I was able to try a lot of dishes. The hot spring water was also wonderful—truly natural. And you absolutely must get a full-body scrub while you're here; the price isn't expensive, and it felt so good afterwards!

Without any prior planning, I stumbled upon a quiet lakeside area on the road from Zhalute Banner to Arxan. It was deserted, and I instantly felt incredibly relaxed 🙂, so I decided to take a detour from the main road to check it out. This place is called Gem Bay, part of the Gem Lake Scenic Area. It has a small hill, a sun-drenched lake 🌅, a long wooden boardwalk extending into the lake, and various photo spots 📷. There are accommodations and facilities, but they were all closed. I don't know if it's because September is the off-season, or if this place is usually quiet. In any case, it was exceptionally peaceful, perfect for sitting by the lake, relaxing, and unwinding.

A park in the city of Ulanhot. It's not very big and a bit dilapidated. There's a parking lot at the entrance. At the innermost part is the Genghis Khan Mausoleum. There's a fee. It looks like you have to climb quite a high staircase, so I didn't go up. Overall it's pretty good.

Back to Suishi Onsen again! My friends and I come every year. The onsen environment is great. This time we tried the outdoor onsen – a real contrast of hot and cold! It was amazing! The lovely lady recommended a private bathhouse, which was really great! The private bathhouse even had a small heated floor and a spa massage bed 💆🏻‍♂️ So comfortable! Highly recommended! Yueyue's service was excellent and very warm ❤️‍🔥 Thumbs up to her!

The scenic area is free to enter, and parking is also free. The sightseeing bus costs 30 yuan. You can also explore the area on foot without buying a ticket, but the distance is a bit far. The scenery is quite nice, with water features and natural landscapes reminiscent of the water towns of southern China. It's a 5A-level scenic area.

Chagan Lake is divided into two scenic areas, and a combined ticket costs 68 yuan. One scenic area includes flower fields and other attractions, but you need to take a 20-yuan sightseeing bus to see everything. The other scenic area is 20km away. That scenic area includes the three attractions listed in the combined ticket.

Natural ecology, unique wild charm. Grasslands, animals, plants and culture are organically combined, making it suitable for sightseeing, educational trips and leisure. For 30 yuan, the scenic shuttle bus will take you to four scenic spots, where you can enjoy activities such as grass rafting, horseback riding, archery, or feeding wolves... It's easy and enjoyable.

The old temple is well worth a visit. The pillars inside are adorned with 81 golden dragons, five-clawed dragons, royal grade, and incredibly lifelike! The ceiling also features golden dragons, covered in gold dust, shimmering brilliantly. A thorough look would take nearly three hours. The murals inside the temple are exquisite, including one depicting five dragons playing with a pearl. It's antique and charming, a place where religion and politics coexist. Highly recommended!
