China's Sky Eye—FAST (Five Hundred Meters Aperture Spherical Telescope), which was completed and put into use on September 25, 2016, is located in Pingtang County, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, and is the world's largest single-aperture spherical radio telescope. Highlights of the trip Single-aperture spherical radio telescope China's Sky EyeIt has a 500-meter aperture, a receiving area nearly 30 football fields in size, and a main reflective surface area of 250,000 square meters. When you actually get close...China's Sky EyeOnly then can one truly appreciate the vastness and grandeur of this man-made structure and marvel at the ingenuity of humankind. Only a nation with strong comprehensive national power has the capability to construct such a massive project, which naturally evokes a sense of national pride. Adopting a design created by Chinese scientists China's Sky EyeThe site selection was the result of numerous investigations by experts over many years in various locations, and Guizhou Province was finally chosen. It cleverly utilizes the unique topographical conditions of Guizhou's natural karst funnel depression, laying 4,450 reflective surface units within the depression to form a 500-meter spherical active reflective surface, which looks like "a big pot" from a distance. Tour route The package ticket sold at the FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope) scenic attraction includes the FAST observation deck, the Pingtang Astronomical Town of FAST, the Astronomical Experience Hall, and the Planetarium. Most visitors follow a clear and straightforward route that includes the FAST observation deck, the Pingtang Astronomical Town of FAST, the Astronomical Experience Hall, and the Planetarium, following the order of "going up the mountain and going down the mountain." FAST Observation Deck: Experience the Single Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope After storing your electronic devices, take a shuttle bus to the core of the FAST radio optics system. Then, climb over 700 steps to reach the summit, where the steps are decorated with images of the 12 zodiac signs, including Pisces and Aries. You can enjoy a panoramic view from the FAST observation deck at the summit.China's Sky EyeSeeing the entire FAST telescope, a massive structure nearly 30 football fields in size, is truly breathtaking. The observation deck has three levels, offering different perspectives of the "giant dish." In this spectacle, one can't help but exclaim, "My country is amazing!" Astronomy Experience Center: Learn and experience various astronomical knowledge After enjoying the stunningChina's Sky EyeAfterwards, you can visit the FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope) Pingtang Astronomical Town - Astronomy Experience Hall, where you can freely take photos with your phone. The hall currently comprises eight exhibition halls: the Introductory Hall, the Interstellar Adventure Hall, the Radio Astronomy Hall, the Solar Science Hall, the Galaxy Exploration Hall, the Celestial Cinema, the Observatory Corridor, and the FAST Science Popularization Classroom. Through textual explanations combined with sound and light technologies, it integrates visual, auditory, and tactile senses, creating a highly futuristic and vivid presentation of astronomical knowledge. Here, children, students, and adults alike can expand their knowledge and broaden their horizons. Celestial Cinema: Watch cool astronomy films The last stop for visitors is usually the planetarium. After a long day of sightseeing, visitors can sit down and watch a film about astronomy, which is both relaxing and educational. Further Reading: 1. Nan Rendong, the father of "China's Sky Eye" Nan Rendong was the initiator and founder of the FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope) project. As the project's scientist and chief engineer, he led the overcoming of a series of technical challenges, making outstanding contributions to the successful completion of the FAST project. His unwavering dedication and hard work for 22 years finally led to the completion of the FAST project on September 25, 2016. Just as it took ten years to forge a sword in ancient times, it took twenty years to "build the FAST." Just days before the first anniversary of the completion of China's FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope) project, Nan Rendong, the father of FAST, passed away at the age of 72. It is because of people like him, who gazed at the stars, that our nation has hope. He was a pillar of the nation. Although he closed his eyes forever, he opened another "heavenly eye" for humanity. The hero has passed away; please remember this great name—Nan Rendong. 2. The scientific significance of FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope) China's FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope) is a crucial facility for humanity to directly observe distant galaxies and planets, and to search for cosmic environments similar to our solar system or Earth. Its scientific objectives include surveying neutral hydrogen in the universe, discovering new pulsars, and detecting interstellar molecules. It also has wide applications in aerospace engineering. Through FAST, we might discover extraterrestrial civilizations and unravel the mysteries of the universe's origin.China · Pingtang

Enshi Grand Canyon National 5A Scenic Area and National Geopark is a world-renowned "natural museum" of composite karst landforms with "ground fissures, cenotes and rock pillars" coexisting at the same time. Its ecological environment is unique, and its natural scenery is primitive and simple, with a gallery of ten thousand meters of cliffs, a thousand-foot waterfall, hundreds of unique peaks, and ten miles of deep ravines. Yunlong Ground Fissure is called "the beautiful scar of the earth"; "One Incense Stick" was rated as one of the 40 famous scenic spots in China by foreign media. Yunlong ground seam Yunlong Ground Fissure Scenic Area covers an area of 11.3 square kilometers and has an altitude of 600-800 meters. The main landforms in the scenic area include ground fissures, waterfalls, deep pools, karst caves, underground rivers, pictographic stones, and geological profiles. Yunlong Ground Fissure is zigzag-shaped in plane, extending nearly north-south, with a total length of 3.6 kilometers, an average depth of 75 meters, and an average width of 15 meters. The river valley is deep and the bank is steep. It is known as the "ten-mile and hundred-foot cliff". It is the main sightseeing area of Yunlong Ground Fissure Scenic Area. The two walls of Yunlong Ground Fissure are steep and nearly parallel, and the width is basically the same from top to bottom. The cross section is "U"-shaped, which is extremely rare and unique. A stick of incense Karst stone pillars. A stick of incense is a landmark of the Enshi Grand Canyon and a very rare landscape among similar karst landforms. A stick of incense is 150 meters high, with a diameter of 6 meters at the bottom and a minimum diameter of only 4 meters. Its rock type is Triassic limestone. Because the strata here are horizontal, and the rock has a high compressive strength (800 kg/cm3), and there is no tilt or slip, it cannot be moved by the wind or knocked down by the rain. It has stood proudly among the peaks for tens of millions of years, guarding this mysterious land, which is rare. Cliff plank road The Cliff Plank Road, also known as Buyuntian Plank Road and Cliff Corridor, was built in August 2006 and took 1 year and 8 months to complete. The plank road is located on the mountainside of the vertical cliff on the east side of the mountain, with an altitude of about 1,700 meters, a total length of 488 meters, a height difference of 300 meters, and 118 stone steps. It is integrated with the mountain cliffs. Because the plank road is built on the cliff, some people call it the Cliff Corridor, or the "Cliff Plank Road". The project is a combination of the manufacturing technology of the ancient Bashu plank road with modern reinforced concrete building materials and advanced construction technology. It is scientific, safe, and magnificent. Welcome Song The Welcoming Pine, which is estimated to be nearly a thousand years old, grows proudly on the cliff, as if opening its arms to welcome tourists from all over the world.China · Enshi City

Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street

Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street is the long-established core commercial district in Chongqing, located on the Yuzhong Peninsula. Centered around the Monument to the People's Liberation at its heart, it extends along several streets including Minquan Road, Minzu Road, Zourong Road, and Bayi Road. The monument is an octagonal tower-shaped structure, originally built to commemorate the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and later renamed the Monument to the People's Liberation. Its four-sided clock at the top makes it a highly recognizable landmark in Chongqing, and most travelers visiting here take photos in front of it. Shopping and food are the two main themes of the pedestrian street: the area around the monument is densely packed with shopping malls and traditional department stores. When tired from shopping, visitors can turn into Bayi Road Snack Street, where sour and spicy noodles, small glutinous rice balls, and wontons line the street, allowing them to sample all of Chongqing's snacks while strolling. Hidden around the commercial district are Luohan Temple and Nengren Temple on Zhonghua Road, two ancient temples nestled among skyscrapers, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling city. At night, the pedestrian street takes on a different vibe: building screens and neon lights illuminate the area, and the square in front of the monument becomes a popular spot for night photography. Every New Year's Eve, many locals gather under the monument to listen to the New Year's bell and count down together—a tradition that has continued for years. The crowd is enormous that night, so those wishing to experience the atmosphere should plan ahead. A short 15-minute walk from the monument leads to Hongya Cave, making it ideal to combine both locations into a nightlife route.China · Chongqing

Qingyan Ancient Town

Qingyan Ancient Town is located in Huaxi District, the southern suburb of Guiyang, and is known as one of Guizhou's four ancient towns alongside Zhenyuan, Bing'an, and Longli. Established during the Ming Dynasty as a military stronghold, the town preserves numerous well-maintained ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing periods. The filming of the movie "The Missing Gun" brought Qingyan Ancient Town to wider recognition. The ancient town's architecture follows the natural mountain contours, with its city walls built from massive stones on cliffs. It features four city gates at the east, west, south, and north. The exquisite stone and wood carvings in the town's buildings are a major highlight. The south gate of the ancient town, Dingguang gate, is the most magnificent among the four main gates. Historically, it served as the first gateway guarding the southern entrance to Guiyang. The towering gate tower and city walls built with massive stones, along with the winding flagstone path outside the town and surrounding farmland, create a spectacular landscape. Many promotional photos of Qingyan ancient town are taken here. Entering the ancient town through Dingguang gate, the first sight is the Zhaolilun centenarian memorial archway. Built by imperial decree during Emperor Daoguang's reign in the Qing dynasty, this archway features an unusual design - the stone lions carved on its four pillars are upside down compared to conventional ones, creating a peculiar sight. Walking along the ancient stone-paved post road, you'll find shops on both sides selling local specialties. Unique snacks like braised pig's feet, grilled tofu, and rose candy offer distinctive flavors worth trying when you need a break from exploring. The ancient post road winding from the south gate to the north gate serves as both the central axis and main street of the ancient town. Divided by the ancient cultural square at the town center, the northern section is called North Street while the southern section is named South Street. Intersecting with the main street are East Street to the east and West Street to the west. Following East Street eastward leads to Wenchang Pavilion at No. 143, a brick-and-wood structure built during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty. This octagonal pavilion with multiple eaves was constructed against the mountain slope and served as a gathering place for scholars to study, socialize, and worship the Wenchang deity - visitors may also pay their respects if interested. Heading west along the main street, you'll reach various distinctive religious buildings in Qingyan Ancient Town, including Yingxiang Temple, Ciyun Temple, Wanshou Palace, and the Catholic Church, all exquisitely crafted and perfect for photography. Between South Street and West Street lies a quiet alley called Back Street. This stone-paved lane is one of the most characteristic features of Qingyan Ancient Town, with its bluish-black flagstones polished smooth by centuries of use, reflecting light like mirrors to create a profound sense of tranquility. The narrow, serene path follows the mountain's contours, flanked by layered slate walls, making it an ideal photography spot. The streets and alleys in Qingyan ancient town are deep and winding, but there are signposts on the main street and at every important intersection. Moreover, most lanes can loop back to the main street, so you don't need to worry about getting lost while exploring the ancient town.China · Guiyang

Furong Town

Originally named "Wang Village," Furong Town is an ancient town with a history of over two thousand years. In 1986, the film *Hibiscus Town*, directed by Xie Jin and starring Liu Xiaoqing and Jiang Wen, was shot on location here, bringing the ancient town widespread fame, and in 2007 it was officially renamed. The center of the ancient town is built atop a massive rock formation, with a waterfall dropping dozens of meters flowing through the town. Tujia stilted houses are built right next to the waterfall, earning it the name "the thousand-year-old town hanging on a waterfall." Strolling along the five-li-old street paved with bluestone slabs, you can see many local residences on both sides constructed from wooden planks, many of which have darkened with age, bearing clear traces of the passage of time. The Xizhou Bronze Pillar in the town is a precious historical witness, inscribed with a treaty of truce and alliance between the King of Chu and local chieftains during the Five Dynasties period, recording a chapter of Tujia history. The Tusi King's Palace next to the waterfall served as a summer retreat for successive generations of Tusi kings, and the area nearby is also a great spot to overlook the entire town, taking in the stilted houses, the waterfall, and the Youshui River below all at once. After nightfall, the ancient town lights up, the waterfall is illuminated with colored lights, and the night scenery is gorgeous and enchanting. Mi doufu (rice tofu), made famous by a film, is now the town's signature snack, with shops bearing "mi doufu" signs everywhere, and the one where the film was shot being especially popular. The town also offers specialty goods such as Tujia brocade, bamboo tube wine, and Guzhang Maojian tea, which you can keep as travel souvenirs.China · Yongshun

A regular ticket is sufficient, as you'll find that there's simply not enough time to visit the paid attractions if you go at midday. Also, you must bring a film camera next to the Fast sign. It must be a battery-free film camera with manual metering. If possible, bring your own film, as film cameras at the attraction aren't cheap—300 yuan for 36 exposures.

Enshi has been experiencing light rain every day recently, and fog is highly likely on the mountains. While walking along the cliffside plank road, everything was shrouded in mist, making it impossible to see anything. Fortunately, the fog cleared when we reached "One Incense Stick," and we could see. This scenic area requires a bit of luck. The entire hike takes about 5 hours (from parking lot to parking lot). The most physically demanding section is from the beginning to the "One Line Sky," while the later sections are less strenuous. I think the Earth Fissure is more unique than Qixingzhai. Enshi Grand Canyon is a karst landscape, and Qixingzhai's appearance is more like a peak forest, lacking a distinctive feature. However, the Earth Fissure is very special: the collapse of the underground cave ceiling formed the Yunlong River Fissure, and the continuous erosion and dissolution of the cliff face by flowing water has created stone curtains, which is quite interesting. The scenic area is over 1000 meters above sea level and has many maple trees. With the recent light rain and large temperature differences between day and night, the maple leaves have turned red, which is also a sight to behold.

Senior tickets for the evening session are 60 yuan, while adult tickets were 30 yuan (I bought them using my Global Pass benefits). The scenery is similar to Shanghai Romance Park, with different shows at different times, and there are many foreigners. The overall atmosphere is fantastic. Entering at dusk might offer a better experience. I think it's worth seeing since you're already there, with its unique architecture and local culture.

Not far from Guiyang, this ancient town offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The "Defend Qingyan" activity immerses you in the atmosphere of the revolutionary war. While the main street is teeming with tourists, a stroll into the side alleys allows for a quieter appreciation of the century-old buildings. The pig's trotters in the food street are a specialty and definitely worth trying.

This place is beautiful and has many options for activities! However once you pay for access they find alternatives in cost like paying for an elevator instead of taking the stairs - we opted for the stairs and in doing so restricted me from walking for 4 days - you walk down the entire canyon in very steep stairs. To exit you can get a boat to take you to the exit however, it’s a 3 km walk to get on another boat and I believe it was much longer then any other 3km walk I’ve completed (which is many)

Each person paid an extra 80 yuan to access the VIP area, where we sat at the bow of the boat. There were snacks, fruit, and drinks, along with a commentary and a face-changing performance. The night view from the boat was indeed excellent, especially in the VIP area where there was no need to squeeze with the crowds; everyone was right next to the side of the boat, allowing for photos anytime. The entire trip lasted 40 minutes. However, the journey to Hongyadong Wharf was incredibly congested, chaotic, and packed with people...
