G闲青衣The Wooden Pagoda is easily accessible by direct bus from downtown Datong. It's a traditional wooden structure built with mortise and tenon joints without nails. Despite its tilted shape, it has stood for a thousand years. The five-story, six-eaved structure, along with its colorful sculptures and murals, tells ancient stories and is truly breathtaking. Although only one floor is currently open to the public, it still evokes a powerful sense of awe and wonder at China's ancient culture.

carrielu1984For just 15 yuan, you can see the wooden structure from the Jin Dynasty, the nine-palace caisson ceiling, and the celestial pavilions extending from the ceiling, as well as the stone lions with flowing hair—it's totally worth it! Once inside the main hall, you can't help but look up, refusing to lower your head. The miniature pavilions are filled with densely packed brackets, flying eaves, and mythical beasts—it's so exquisite that you can't take your eyes off them.

Anonymous userI've admired its reputation for many years. The two Jin Dynasty halls, the Amitabha Hall and the Geyuan Temple, have exquisitely crafted latticed windows that are very similar in appearance. They contain Buddhist scriptures and other content, and the murals are also well-preserved. There are also Ming Dynasty Buddhist statues.
