Lanzarote Island

1. Lanzarote Island

Lanzarote Island is a volcanic island in the middle east of the Canary Islands in the province of Las Palmas, Spain. With its unique volcanic landforms, the integration of art and nature, and the concept of sustainable ecological development, the island has become one of the most distinctive tourist destinations in the region. Lanzarote Island is much more than a sunny beach resort. It is a living museum of the power of the earth and a stunning canvas left behind by a volcanic eruption. This island, where desolation and vitality coexist and nature and art dance together, is not famous for its dense forests or golden beaches in the traditional sense, but for its otherworldly and unique volcanic landforms, and the artistic practice of harmonious coexistence of human wisdom and natural wonders, which attracts travelers from all over the world. This is an island reshaped by volcanoes, enlightened by artists, and carefully cared for.

D13***26D13***26It's about a kilometer away from the Green Cave (Cueva de los Verdes), so you should check it out. Tickets cost 16 euros per adult. It's a converted volcanic cave, and the white blind shrimp (some say blind crabs, but I think they look like crayfish) inside are tiny, about two or three centimeters long, and are endemic to Lanzarote. The overall layout is that you enter the cave and go downstairs to a restaurant. The pool next to it is the blind shrimp's habitat, and the white spots are actually blind shrimp. Walking along the pool leads to a water bar, and upstairs you'll find a beautiful blue pool. Next to that, upstairs, there's another large water bar, and then there's the souvenir shop, which is where you exit. It's a small attraction, but there's also a museum for an additional 5 euros. I didn't know what it was about, so I didn't buy a ticket. Later, I looked it up and found out you can enjoy a short concert in the cave (presumably just to soak up the atmosphere). It's a bit of a shame. I should have checked it out earlier, since I was already there.

杰杰陶TAO杰杰陶TAOThere are many places in the world where Sanmao lived. But this one in Laayoune, Morocco is quite nice. After all, the writer Sanmao lived here for a long time. There is also a post office that Sanmao mentioned in her book. It is worth a visit.
