Lijiang punishes everyone who doesn't plan ahead!!! I've wanted to visit Lijiang Old Town for ages! Dancing around a bonfire in the Old Town Listening to folk songs in a bar I did my research beforehand And stayed for three days and two nights, finally figuring out how to enjoy it! 🏕️Location: Lijiang Old Town 🎫Tickets: Free 24 hours a day 🚗Transportation: There's a 20 RMB bus from the airport directly to the Old Town; there are stops at both the South and North Gates. Taxis are also readily available. 📸Photo Spots in the Old Town ▪️Big Waterwheel: One of the must-see spots in Lijiang Old Town, located in Yuhe Square. A huge waterwheel, with many Dongba wishing plaques nearby. ▪️Sifang Street: Located in the center of Lijiang Old Town, connecting all the alleys. There's a bonfire party around 7 PM at the e-People's Fun Zone. ▪️ Umbrella Street: A whole street lined with oil-paper umbrellas. During the day, the sunlight makes them colorful, and at night they create a real old-street atmosphere. ▪️ Wenchang Palace or Lion Mountain Viewpoint: The viewpoint in front of Wenchang Palace offers panoramic views of Lijiang Old Town. From Lion Mountain, you can go to Wangu Tower Park for a complete view of the old town. ▪️ Qiyi Street and Wuyi Street: Food and bars. You can find a bar to listen to music in the evening. The casserole with fresh meat stewed to order was incredibly high quality! You can eat your fill for just 30 RMB per person. We ordered lamb casserole, pork rib casserole, and mushroom casserole – every flavor was delicious! 😋 Plus, the owner poured fresh chili on top, and we couldn't stop eating! About bars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ When in Lijiang, you must experience the local folk bar culture. We chose "Waste a Life Bar," where you can enjoy the view and listen to music. The singers take turns performing, each with a different style, so you can hear a variety of songs throughout the night! 🎵 #LijiangOldTownPhotography #LijiangLocalRecommendation #LijiangTravelGuide #LijiangFood #LijiangOldTownTourismRoute #LijiangBarRecommendation #LijiangHongxingCasserole #LijiangWasteALifeBar #LijiangTourism
Visiting the Mu Palace during the day is the best time to truly appreciate its grandeur. The architectural lines, courtyard layers, and carved beams and painted rafters are all clearly visible in the sunlight, relying solely on their natural beauty without any nighttime filter. The overall scale is considerable, and as you walk around, you can feel the confidence of the Mu family, who once held absolute power in Lijiang. The highlights are the expansive views and meticulous layout. Standing on higher ground overlooking the ancient city, you instantly understand why they could rule for centuries. The downsides are the large number of tourists and the somewhat official-sounding guide signs, but these don't prevent you from taking stunning photos. Overall: Worth a visit, especially during the day to truly appreciate its scale and details.
Lijiang Ancient Town [Scenery] With water as the core, the water lane space layout, dense bridges, and the skills of the Central Plains Han, Tibetan and Bai architectures have been combined to form upward earth and stone walls, cascading roofs, small green tiles, wooden frames and other architectural techniques. The architectural layout and architectural art techniques are unique, with common forms such as three squares and one screen wall, four-sided five courtyards, and one entrance and two courtyards. Lijiang Ancient Town integrates the essence of various ethnic groups such as the Han, Bai, Yi, Tibetan, and Naxi. There is no regular road network in the city and no strict city walls. The streets in Lijiang Ancient Town are built by the mountains and rivers and paved with red breccia. There are Wangu Tower, Mu Mansion, Wufeng Tower, Heilongtan, Wenchang Palace, Fang Guoyu's Former Residence, Puji Temple, Sifang Street, Kegongfang, and Xueshan Academy in the ancient city. [Cost-effectiveness] Lijiang Ancient Town is open to the public free of charge all day, and tickets are required to enter Wangu Tower and Mu Mansion in the ancient city.
Lijiang Ancient Town is a charming place with both historical charm and modern style. Lijiang Ancient Town, also known as Dayan Ancient Town, is located in the Old Town District of Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. It is famous for its unique street layout, rich historical culture and charming natural scenery. Lijiang Ancient Town was built in the late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty, and has a history of more than 800 years. The buildings in the ancient city are close to the mountains and rivers. The streets are paved with red breccia, and scenic spots such as Sifang Street, Mu Mansion, and Wufeng Tower are distributed among them. Standing on the East Street of the ancient city, you can look up and see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the distance. The scenery is very beautiful[^1^]. This is not only a gathering place for the Naxi people, but also a model of harmonious coexistence of multiple ethnic groups. The ancient city has a unique architectural style, which integrates the architectural features of the Han, Tibetan and Naxi peoples, forming a traditional pattern of "three courtyards and one screen wall"[^4^]. Lijiang Ancient Town has a unique geographical location, with the towering Qinghai-Tibet Plateau on its back, the fertile Lijiang Dam in front, and clear rivers and lakes in its arms, making it a commercial center and cultural intersection since ancient times. Sifang Street, as the central square of the ancient town, is not only the center of market transactions, but also a gathering place for cultural activities [^2^]. Every street and every stone slab here records a long history and moving stories. Today, Lijiang Ancient Town is already a modern tourist city, but it still retains a strong ethnic style and traditional culture. On the bar street, there are resident singers and bands performing every night, attracting many tourists to experience the nightlife. The gurgling stream and the floating river lights create a romantic atmosphere [^1^]. In the ancient town
I think Lijiang is a very worthwhile place to visit. The architectural style here is unique, especially suitable for wearing cheongsam to take photos. Of course, you can also choose to rent local ethnic costumes to wear. ● Rich folk customs: Ethnic minorities such as the Naxi live here, and tourists can participate in dance, sing and dance with local residents, and taste special foods such as Naxi grilled fish and cured pork ribs hot pot to experience unique folk customs.
Lijiang Ancient Town was built in the late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty. It is located in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and covers an area of 7.279 square kilometers. The streets in Lijiang Ancient Town are built along the mountains and rivers and paved with red breccia. There are Sifang Street, Mu Mansion, Wufeng Tower, Heilongtan, Dongba Cultural Museum, Wangu Tower, Wenchang Palace, Xueshan Academy, Fang Guoyu's Former Residence, Baima Longtan Temple, Puxian Temple, etc. The ancient town is now mainly inns, restaurants, bars, small shops, etc., and it is very lively.
Its unique architectural style combines the essence of Han, Tibetan, Bai and other ethnic groups. The layout of "three squares, one screen wall, four courtyards and five patios", as well as the houses with blue tiles, white walls, and civil structures, and the streets along the mountains and rivers, together constitute a picturesque beauty. As the main settlement of the Naxi people and the birthplace of Dongba culture, it has a profound cultural heritage. Attractions such as the Mu Mansion and Sifang Street, as well as performances such as Naxi ancient music and dance, fully demonstrate the wisdom and customs of the Naxi people. The nightlife in the ancient city is rich and colorful, with bars and snack stalls everywhere, and you can also participate in interactive experience projects such as making handicrafts. However, there are many tourists in Lijiang Ancient City during the peak tourist season, which may affect the tour experience. At the same time, with the development of commercialization, it is also necessary to pay attention to the protection and inheritance of traditional culture to better show its unique charm.
