Renzo Piano | Britain's tallest building: "Star-reaching Tower" The Shard, also known as the "Star-reaching Tower", is located next to London Bridge Station on the south bank of the Thames in London, England. It is the tallest building in the UK and the fourth tallest skyscraper in Europe. The building has a total height of 310 meters and a total of 95 floors, of which 72 floors are usable spaces, including functional areas such as offices, hotels, apartments, restaurants and observation decks. The project was designed by the famous Italian architect Renzo Piano. Construction began in March 2009, was completed in April 2012, and was officially opened to the public on February 1, 2013. The Shard is positioned to create London's first "vertical community", integrating office, residence, hotel, catering and sightseeing, aiming to provide London with a multifunctional and sustainable urban landmark. The design was inspired by the spire of the church and the mast of the ship on the Thames. The overall shape is wide at the bottom and narrow at the top, eventually forming a crystal clear glass pyramid.

It is cost-effective and cheaper than the official booking. I bought the ticket and went up quickly while the weather was fine. It is worth a visit. This is my first time in London. The observation deck of the Shard is on the 72nd floor. It is the tallest building in London. It is also nice to watch the sunset.

The tallest building in the EU, the architecture is very modern and imaginative. When I went up to the top floor, there was music playing, haha. It was open-air and the wind was blowing, the whole experience was very spritual. I watched the sunset from dusk to the lights at night. I didn't climb the Shard, but it was also quite magnificent when I looked at it from the other side of the river.
