OutstandingWonderful palace! I went on my own without booking audio guides or guided tours. However, both options are available. You need to pass security, so don’t bring too many bags. Next to the palace, you can also visit the Almudena Cathedral.

Wonderful palace! I went on my own without booking audio guides or guided tours. However, both options are available. You need to pass security, so don’t bring too many bags. Next to the palace, you can also visit the Almudena Cathedral.
The Royal Palace of Madrid is an architectural masterpiece and a powerful symbol of Spain's monarchy. While it is the official residence of the royal family, it is primarily used for state ceremonies, allowing the public to explore its stunning interior. The palace's imposing Baroque and Classical façade gives way to rooms of breathtaking opulence.
I went to queue early in the morning. One line was for buying tickets on-site, and the other was for those who already had tickets, so don't queue in the wrong line! The staff were friendly, and the palace was luxurious and worth seeing.
The Royal Palace of Madrid is a representative cultural relic of the Bourbon dynasty. Its luxury and magnificence ranks third among many royal palaces in Europe, second only to the Palace of Versailles in Paris and the Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna. The Royal Palace of Madrid was built between 1738 and 1764. In December 1763, Carlos III moved into a part of the completed new palace, and subsequent monarchs lived in this palace until Alfonso XI abdicated in 1931. Today, in addition to undertaking some state affairs, the Royal Palace of Madrid is open to the public as a museum. Visitors can visit 50 of the 2,800 rooms in the palace along the prescribed route. The Royal Palace is a square with a side length of 180 meters. It is a brick and stone structure with an architectural style comparable to that of the Louvre, which is magnificent and grand; the interior decoration is Italian style and magnificent. The countless sculptures, murals, and the exhibited gold and silver utensils, porcelain musical instruments, leather tapestries and other royal supplies in the palace are exquisite and beautiful. On one side of the spacious atrium square, there is a viewing corridor. Strolling along it, you can have a panoramic view of the city of Madrid.
The Madrid Palace and Mayor Square are undoubtedly the most elegant places in Madrid. They are surrounded by a series of ancient corridor-like buildings. Arches connect the streets of the city. A peacock stands smartly on the wall. There are many valuable paintings and crafts in the palace. Unfortunately, no photographs can be taken. But it is interesting to hear the story between the emperor and the princess. The most famous one is the big dining table, where foreign heads of state are served. The portraits of celebrities and porcelain are extraordinary. Especially one room has strong Chinese elements and the walls are full of dragon and Phoenix patterns.
It is worth visiting. The exterior is magnificent, the architectural style combines Baroque and traditional Spanish royal style, and the interior decoration is luxurious. It is one of the most complete and exquisite palaces in the world. The transportation around the palace is also very convenient, and the supporting facilities are very complete.
