It’s best to book about 2-3 months in advance. ✈️ Book a ticket with China Southern Airlines (23 kg free baggage allowance) with a 2.10-hour transit in Guangzhou (just the right amount of time to stroll and grab a quick bite at the airport) (or if you prefer, there are direct flights too). 🏨 For hotels in China, most travel is done by Metro. It’s recommended to choose a hotel near a Metro station for convenient travel. Check prices and book at least 2 months ahead. 📞 For your phone, I activated roaming and added travel insurance in the package. The price is very good, 599 THB for 10 GB over 10 days. Oh, there’s really nothing like a sunny day to hit up the Oriental Pearl and check out Shanghai from up high, like 263 meters up high! For just 160 RMB, you can explore 3 different levels of the tower. First up is the spot at 259 meters, where the view is just awesome. Plus, there are some cool souvenir shops to poke around in. After you’ve checked out that floor, you can head up to the 263-meter mark, where there’s this glass floor observation deck. It’s kind of the best place to hang out and take it all in, but you might have to wait a bit to get a spot all to yourself. Totally worth it for that killer photo, though. When you’re heading back down, don’t miss the floor in the biggest ball of the tower, where everything’s got this pink glass vibe, and you can even play some arcade games. Seriously, if it’s your first time in Shanghai, you’ve gotta make a stop at the Oriental Pearl. It’s a fantastic way to see the city from above and just soak in all those skyscraper views. #chinatravel Going up the Oriental Pearl Tower is one of those classic Shanghai things you just gotta do. It’s super tall, super pink, and kinda funky looking, but the view? Absolute fire. From the top, you get this unreal 360 view of the whole city, skyscrapers, the Bund, the crazy traffic, and the endless sprawl of buildings that go forever. There’s a glass floor section up there that’s kinda terrifying but fun if you’re into that. Pro tip: don’t look down if you’re scared of heights, or do and scream a little, it’s part of the experience. Go right before sunset if you can. You’ll get the best of both worlds, daylight shots and the city lighting up at night. Magic. There’s also a mini museum at the base about old Shanghai. It’s cool for a quick walk through, nothing too deep. It gets busy, especially on weekends, so book ahead or go early. Totally touristy, totally awesome. A solid way to see Shanghai from the sky.
