In the afternoon, visit the Wenchang Aerospace Science Museum (ticket 68 RMB/person, half price for children). This is a great place to learn about China’s aerospace industry, and the kids were super excited to learn a lot about space🚀!
Before dusk, head to Hainan Tongguling Scenic Area (ticket 45 RMB/person, half price for children). Climb to the top to overlook the beautiful Moon Bay, which looks like a crescent moon under the sunset—breathtaking scenery. It’s windy at the summit, so remember to put an extra jacket on the kids.
Dinner at Longlou Town seafood market where you can buy fresh seafood and have it cooked yourself. The cost for four adults and one child was about 280 RMB—fresh and affordable!
[Sunrise] Day 2: Coconut Grove Stroll and Island Leisure
Early morning walk on the hotel beach, kids collected shells and built sandcastles, having a blast.
In the morning, drive to Dongjiao Coconut Grove Scenic Area (free). This is one of the largest coconut groves in Hainan, stretching for dozens of miles and spectacular to see. We rested on hammocks in the grove and tasted freshly picked coconuts (8 RMB each), refreshing and thirst-quenching.
Lunch at a farmhouse near the coconut grove, tasting **coconut chicken** and local wild vegetables. The cost for four adults and one child was about 200 RMB.
In the afternoon, visit Stone Park (free), where black volcanic lava rocks contrast sharply with the blue sea. The kids enjoyed searching for small crabs and fish among the rocks, experiencing the fun of tide pooling.
Return to Wenchang city in the evening, check in at Wenchang Nanguo Wyndham Garden Hotel (family room about 500 RMB/night). Dinner at Wennan Old Street, tasting Wenchang chicken and Baoluo rice noodles.
[Sunrise] Day 3: Rainforest Exploration and Green Orange Picking
After breakfast, drive to Qiongzhong (about 2.5 hours), enjoying the beautiful central mountainous scenery of Hainan along the way.
Arrive at noon and have lunch in the county seat of **Qiongzhong Li and Miao Autonomous County**, experiencing Li ethnic specialty dishes. The cost for four adults and one child was about 180 RMB.
In the afternoon, visit **Baihualing Tropical Rainforest Cultural Tourism Area** (ticket 88 RMB/person, half price for children). This area has a well-preserved tropical rainforest ecosystem. It was the season for Qiongzhong green oranges, so we went to a local green orange orchard to pick fruit (entrance fee 30 RMB/person, oranges picked charged by weight). The oranges were sweet and juicy, and the kids were thrilled to pick oranges directly from the trees for the first time!
