based on 75 reviewsA garden of exquisite beauty, nestled halfway up Taihu Lake. The beauty of Liyuan Garden lies in its ingenious design, with bridges every three steps and scenic views every five; in the vibrant interplay of pavilions reflected in the clear waters and blossoms adorning the banks. Spring brings peach blossoms, summer offers the fragrance of lotus in the breeze, autumn showcases the sparse shadows of osmanthus, and winter reveals snow-covered eaves. Time seems to slow here, each scene unfolding like a traditional Chinese ink painting, revealing the unique gentleness and elegance of Jiangnan.
Li Lake, formerly known as Wuli Lake, is an inland lake in the northeast of Taihu Lake. Li Garden, which extends into Li Lake, is an old park in Wuxi. It has a Jiangnan garden style and is famous for its waterscape. Narrow embankments, small bridges and corridors are built on the water. Peach blossoms are in full bloom in March and April, and lotus flowers are in full bloom from June to September, making it like a water garden.
From 1927 to 1936, Liyuan was built on the basis of the original eight scenic spots of Qingqi by the Li Lake, and was later expanded several times. According to legend, Fan Li and Xi Shi retired to Taihu Lake in the Spring and Autumn Period and went boating here. Most of the buildings in the park are based on Fan Li and Xi Shi. Come here to see love and exquisiteness.

Entering the gate of Liyuan, to the left is a group of rockery. Don't go there first, go there after you walk around. Go south to the direction of Baihua Mountain House to the Four Seasons Pavilion. The Four Seasons Pavilion refers to a pavilion on each of the four sides of a pond. Plum blossoms are planted next to the Spring Pavilion, oleanders are planted next to the Summer Pavilion, osmanthus is planted next to the Autumn Pavilion, and wintersweets are planted next to the Winter Pavilion. There is a large lawn to the north of the Four Seasons Pavilion. It is very pleasant to sit on the lawn, chat with three or four friends, or have a picnic.
Continue walking south to the long embankment "Nan Di Chun Xiao" on Li Lake. This is a good place to enjoy flowers in spring. There is a row of weeping willows on the embankment, and the willow branches sway in the wind. There are many peach trees planted between the willows. There are many varieties of peach blossoms, and different colors of peach blossoms can bloom on a peach tree. There are also pear blossoms and cherry blossoms. The petals blown down are spread on the lake, like a tin embroidery with clusters of flowers. In the southwest corner of Nan Di Chun Xiao, there is a pavilion overlooking the lake called "Yue Bo Ping Tiao".
Xishi Village is a small island built artificially on the south side of Li Lake. Along the stone road by the water, you can walk around the island. There are many scenic spots named after Fan Li and Xi Shi scattered along the road. In Tao Zhu Mansion, there are pictures and texts introducing Fan Li's life of helping King Gou Jian of Yue to defeat the State of Wu and his business life after retirement. There is a super large abacus in the Hall of the Merchants, which is very interesting. You have to use both hands to pull the beads to move them. Xishi Garden is decorated with Xishi's embroidery workshop, boudoir, and study, and displays tin embroidery exhibits. There are also scenic spots such as the Spring and Autumn Stage on the island.
Take a boat back to Nandi Chunxiao, and walk northeast to Qianbu Corridor. This is an old building in Liyuan, straddling Lihu Lake, with a wall on one side and water on the other. The 80 hollow flower windows on the wall have different patterns and are very exquisite. At the east end of Qianbu Corridor is the "Qinghong Yanlu" Pavilion in the center of the lake. The Ningchun Tower across the water from the pavilion is made of red bricks and green tiles. It is small and has a strong color contrast. It is one of the landmark buildings of Liyuan. In the eastern area of Liyuan, you can see the Ferris wheel of Lihu Park in the east relatively closely. With Liyuan as the foreground and the Ferris wheel as the background, the photos taken are very artistic.
Then we walked northwest to Chunqiu Pavilion, which is still in the eastern area. The pavilion has three floors and is a tall building in Liyuan. There is a teahouse upstairs where you can drink tea while overlooking the beautiful scenery of Lihu Lake. Finally, we returned to the rockery group. A large area of Taihu stones were stacked to form various peaks, all named after the word "cloud", such as Yunwo, Yunjiao, Chuanyun, etc. Among them, Guiyun Peak is the commanding height, 12 meters high. Entering the rockery group is like entering a maze, and you can also climb up the rockery to play.
Liyuan is relatively close to Yuantouzhu to the west, and many tourists will arrange to visit Yuantouzhu and Liyuan in one day.

Actually, it's just a part of Lihu Wetland Park, separated out, and costs 30 yuan to enter. It lacks the feel of a Jiangnan garden, mainly featuring the water scenery of Taihu Lake.
The park isn't large, but its design is exquisite, and the fragrance of osmanthus blossoms fills the air. It's not overly crowded. A stroll along the lake embankment is leisurely and relaxing. It's only about a ten-yuan taxi ride from the city center, not far at all. It's on the same route as Yuantouzhu. Recommended.
Gion is now one of the main attractions of the national key scenic spots "Taihu Lake", known as Wuxi "Xanadu" The water here reflects the legend of spring and autumn; The pavilion here, stopped in Wu Yue's wind and moon three steps and one scene, five steps into a painting, the garden with a 289-meter thousand-step promenade, the Taihu smoke wave gently stringed into a flowing epic 300 weeping willow clipping 400 trees peach blossoms, the spring breeze blows, the English drops water, like the rouge cloud that is left by Xishi...
I came to Gion 3 times last year and didn't come to the right time. This year, I have been thinking about the spring color of Gion. After waiting for a year, I finally came, and I still had my wish. Although the weather was bad that day, there were many people, which did not affect my mood at all. The garden at the end of March can be said to be full of spring gardens, the peach red willow green is really south of the Yangtze River. You can enter the park directly with the Wuxi Garden Year Card.
Li Garden is a famous scenic spot in Wuxi City. It is located on the shore of the beautiful Li Lake and is famous for its unique waterscape garden. In the garden, there are towering rockery, swaying willows, winding embankments, unique pavilions and towers, and a long corridor full of cultural connotations about the legends of Fan Li and Xi Shi, allowing people to feel the profound history and culture when visiting the garden.
Pink peach blossoms and green willows Beautiful and water-filled Water sightseeing boats are available for an additional fee The weather is just right There are many people It’s my first time seeing a bamboo pole performance on the water It’s quite impressive, all the usual yoga moves I didn’t pay for the ticket, which is 45 yuan, a little expensive I used the Wuxi Talent Card to enter the park for free and enjoy the beautiful scenery
Reference time: 3 hours Ticket: 60 yuan (including antique boat tour of Taili Lake, 7 minutes, fixed return time on weekdays, multiple irregular return trips on weekends). After entering, to the left is the rockery group. If you have already had breakfast, it is recommended to take a walk before going to the rockery group. Go in the direction of Baihua Shanfang, south to Four Seasons Pavilion - South Dike Chunxiao - Moon Wave Pingguan at Wanghu Pavilion - Cruise Terminal - Xishizhuang (with performances) - South Dike Chunxiao - Qianbu Long Corridor - east to Qinghong Yanlv at Huxin Pavilion - northwest to Chunqiu Pavilion - Rockery Group. If you have not had breakfast, start the visit from the rockery group on the left. Taoyuanju is on the left side of the scenic area. The breakfast here tastes good and is affordable.
