Taj Mahal

Great little place to stop and have a lovely meal before boarding the ferry back to Newhaven. Fast and efficient service from a very friendly server, food was excellent - we especially liked the cheese naan - a first for us! Would definitely return - thank you!

Lovely small restaurant, right at the end of the street, probably would have missed it if we hadn't booked online.Food was lovely, only 1 small issue, the garlic naan was not how I expected, and had lots of rawish garlic inside. We didn't complain as it was so minor, but I would avoid that naan in future. I had the lamb tandoori in sauce, bloody lovely. My sisters had the prawn biryani also extremely good, with many king prawns

We were disappointed with our meal at the Taj Mahal. The staff were excellent, polite and attentive and the meal was reasonably priced but we found the food under-spiced. Ourgrandson who is french said this is because they are catering for the french taste - apparently the french don't in general like highly spiced food wheres we do.

Lunch in this restaurant at the very pleasant and super-home environment I gave me, the dishes were good and very well prepared all this for a right price The service was really top!! I would come back!!

The staff is very warm, welcome and careful!
