What travelers say:
Lovely window seat by the river, nice wine and great food. Good service, food and drink not the cheapest but definitely not over priced either, especially considering the views. Go, it's really nice!

Pleased that the Fish & Eels is back to its best, have been a little disappointed in the last couple of visits so have not been for a few months. We both enjoyed our starters, scallops and prawns good size portion, duck parfait nice to get enough bread to go with it the grilled half orange added to the enjoyment, followed by sea bass and prawns again cooked well and generous portions, the due of lamb was excellent the shepherd pie was so good with the rosemary really added to the favour, they say the rump is served medium, I would so was closer to raw, prefect for me but for others would may be better to asked for it to be cooked more. Its in sech a lovely spot will enjoy going back soon. It was a Monday night very few tables taken hopefully will get busy again so more atmosphere. If they keep this standard up I am sure they will.
I chose this venue because I was meeting a friend who lived in Bishop's Stortford and I live in Enfield so this was a happy medium. Arrived 10 minutes before and she was stuck in traffic but was shown to my table by attentative staff. Neither of us were particularly hungry so we opted for a sharing starter and two sides, this left us room for dessert. The food was good quality but felt that £27 per head for a pub lunch (one wine and one coke) was expensive hence why only 3 stars for value. Also the lack of items on the menu (steak and signature burger) at 1 30pm meant I couldn't score higher. You are paying for the lovely view onto the river, the beautiful venue and the overall experience
The pub had been renovated recently I believe, and looks lovely.Nice fires.Good service.Food was good.Nice atmosphere and pretty busy too.I will be visiting again.
