My family and I recently stayed at IFC Residence in Shanghai, and I can confidently say it was a perfect experience. The location is incredibly convenient, being right next to the metro line, which made getting around the city effortless. The apartment itself was outstanding – non-smoking, quiet, and soundproof, with top-notch amenities. It was well-equipped with a washing machine, a segregated kitchen area complete with a refrigerator, oven, induction cooker, and basin. The space was thoughtfully designed, and the view from the apartment was spectacular. While the curtains were manual, this was a minor detail in an otherwise impeccable setup. The service was equally impressive. The hotel housekeepers and counter staff were attentive, friendly, and professional, ensuring every need was met with efficiency. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely choose IFC Residence again for my next trip to Shanghai. Highly recommended!

When I initially reserved a room at this hotel apartment, I planned to stay just one day before relocating to another serviced apartment. Yet, the exceptional comfort, pristine cleanliness, and comprehensive modern amenities persuaded me to extend my stay to a full two weeks. Upon arrival, I encountered a hiccup that nearly drove me to seek accommodations elsewhere, but the issue was swiftly and adeptly handled by a courteous gentleman at the front desk, likely the manager. His prompt resolution and eagerness to address my concerns not only resolved the immediate issue but also instilled a deep sense of trust and satisfaction with my stay. The hotel itself is located in a quiet area, a rarity in this country's largest and busiest city. Despite its peaceful setting, it is conveniently close to Metro Line 11, ensuring easy access to the city’s vibrant heart. The option to open the windows in my room was a breath of fresh air—literally. It allowed me to enjoy the fresh breeze without leaving the comfort of my well-appointed room. Speaking of the room, it was a perfect blend of luxury and practicality. The cleanliness was up to the high standard, and it felt like the facility was brand new. The room was equipped with a small kitchen area, complete with a stove, rice cooker, refrigerator, and even a washer. Although there was no dryer in the room, a quick trip to the second floor opened up options not only to dry clothes but also to access private dining/meeting rooms and a well-equipped gym. Every night was a peaceful retreat. The bed was incredibly comfortable, rivaling the peace of my own home. The tranquil environment contributed to undisturbed nights, ensuring restful sleep and rejuvenated mornings. The housekeeping staff, particularly two young men, were notably diligent and affable, keeping my room clean and well-supplied. The front desk staff were equally helpful, always ready to assist with any request. Assistance was dispatched via a charming, albeit slower, robot—no tipping required. This hotel apartment not only met but exceeded my expectations, making it a top recommendation for anyone seeking a 'home away from home.' For those considering a longer stay, here's a tip: contact the hotel directly to speak with a salesperson. You might secure an excellent long-term rate, potentially including breakfast.

Perfect location, Super convenient to everything (as Sporean). Few mins walk to Metro & Nanjing Pedestrian Rd (just like fm JEM to West Gate). Less than 15mins walk to d Bund (just like Raffles City to Marina). Most hotel rooms near Nanjing Ped. Rd r small, old & no window, no cars can direct pick up or alight at hotel, hv to go thru malls, steps or small alley to check in. Not for Polar, d room r big n clean with windows, washing machine, oven, big fridge & electric cooker. Toilet hv heater, wont feel cold after bathe n also can ”dry” clothes after wash😁. DiDi car can stop directly infront of d hotel. Busstop infront got 2 buses to 愚园 for 打卡 (not 豫园). Restaurants (some open till 12am) n shops beside hotel n along d street. The key point, d next street behind, Ningbo Rd, where famous Shanghai breakfasts n mini mart (open till 12am) can b found. Famous LAI LAI Xiao Long Bao is just 5mins walk away. Most important, staffs r friendly.👍👍

I feel that it is one of the best stays I have in my trip to Shanghai. Service is very prompt, almost immediately. Fantastic. Room clean fantastic. Cooking needs like pot and pans all ready. General service is good. Only probably the not so good thing is the breakfast. Pretty limited. will still stay again.

Front desk staff, ”Yu” is really rude. We booked two room for 4 nights each. We just wanted to ask if the bed is queen or king bed but she kept telling us it is 1.5m length and does not want to listen to our explanation at all. We spoke in full mandarin and just used English for Queen and King bed and she shouted at us and say speak in Mandarin, don't speak in English! However, the listing states that the hotel can speak both English and Mandarin. She said she worked in Guangzhou and can understand cantonese but when we spoke in cantonese, she does not even understand or could reply us. If she is unable to speak English or do not know how to answer our questions, she could have directed us to another staff. She also screamed at me and said we are not hotel, we are just a condo after we just questioned about the bed type. The reason to question is that during the trip my mother injure herself and she is unable to stay at second story and my dad need to take care of her at the first story so if it is a king bed, both of them can sleep together and they can leave the upper storey empty. During this time, there was no other guests at the reception so there is no reason to be so impatient and impolite. On another day at night, another receptionist was also very rude to us when we enquire about our delivery package. Another issue was the housekeeping and my clumps of long hair that was dropped on the floor and eyelashes extension was not vacuum away. The room is quite dirty at some corners as well. Some rooms have washing machine while another room type does not have and the common washing machine need to pay money. Fortunately it was a short stay for us. Linda, the front desk receptionist on the other hand was really nice and patient but unfortunately we only got to know her on the second last day of our stay. Hope all the other staff will undergo training and provide the same level of service as Linda. It's the first time to encounter such service. I'm a frequent traveler to China, at least four times within 6 months. Each trip for two weeks.

Excellent location, at the distance from the central area, but metro few steps from the entrance. Line 2 (which goes through all major locations and airport) is either by Didi / 1 change/ on foot. The hotel is clean, comfortable, daily cleaning, smooth check in by friendly Henry. Receptionists don’t speak English, but doesn’t cause any problems as they have a magical digital translator with very accurate translation.

Huaihai Road Area/Xintiandi Area
Room furniture etc was rather old and areas with wall paper showing signs of water peeling off. Counter service and luggage handlers were excellent. However, the staff at the morning buffet was terrible except for a lady. The rest of the crew were rather rude and do not greet diners. Food variety was lacking and miserable. Location of the place was excellent though.

We had a pleasant stay at Baselite. The location is decent - there's no metro station very close, but there are 3 lines within 15 minutes. Check-in was a little tough with the language barrier, including lots of inspection and photos of visas that have nothing to do with China. There's an adequately-equipped gym, a yoga room that was hardly ever in use, and a shared kitchen where some of the longer-term residents seem to hang out. Each room also has a kitchen, but we were given no kitchen supplies whatsoever at the beginning - not even a cup or a set of chopsticks. Everything was clean and functional though. Can recommend.
Citadines Apart Hotel (Shanghai Yan'an West Road)

Enjoyed my stay at Citadines Apart Hotel. Room was cleaned and the hotel staffs were friendly and helpful. The robot “staffs” were helpful as well by transporting my food delivery orders dropped off at the reception, right to my doorstep. Compliments should also go to one of their male hotel staff 汪鹏, who patiently searched for my Taobao parcels for almost 45 mins, as two of the parcels were“missing”. 汪鹏 calmly took further steps to understand which items were missing, which courier sent the package, and also whether they were correctly sent. Throughout this whole exchange, he has not once shown any frustration and has professionally dealt with the issue. Kudos to him for showing service excellence.
