The hotel is clean, affordable, and fully equipped with kitchenware, a washing machine, detergent, and a hairdryer. It's quiet and a bit far from the station. Self check-in was private and hassle-free. I liked it very much and will definitely stay there again.

This hotel is ideally located across from the train station and a short walk to the Metro. Next to shopping centre and a short walk to Dobtonbori. The staff were very friendly and helpful and assisted with luggage transfer to Tokyo. Our luggage was brought out by hitel staff in Tokyo when we checkwd in. Washer/Dryer also very useful on a long trip. Highly recommend.

Good value for money in Osaka. You can walk from Teradacho Station, and it's cheaper than staying near Namba. There's a Don Quijote nearby, so you can easily walk there to shop.

This hotel is located near the Tennoji business district, just about a 10-minute walk to Abeno. Overall, it's a good hotel, even though check-in and check-out are self-service.

We had a pleasant 1-night stay in Osaka as a family of 4. The room was clean and equipped with 2 double beds, with enough space for all of us to stay comfortably.
The location was convenient, and the check-in process was smooth despite there being no on-site lobby staff, remote assistance was available, and the instructions provided at the lobby were clear and easy to follow.
Overall, a clean, comfortable, and hassle-free stay.

Check-in was a breeze, and the instructions were super clear! The facilities are excellent, and I especially appreciated the clothes drying rack and the washing machine with a QR code for instructions ā very thoughtful. The room overall was spotless, but the toothbrushes provided weren't the best quality. I'd suggest adding a small trash can in the bathroom for disposing of toothbrushes and toothpaste. Oh, and the toast and cake at the nearby cafe were delicious!

The newly opened hotel was very clean and comfortable! The rooms were tidy and fully equipped, and there was even a washing machine in the room so I could do laundry anytime, which made me feel very secure. Although it's a self-service hotel, the check-in instructions I received via email beforehand indicated that there were staff at the counter, and the check-in process was very smooth. There was also a self-service coffee and tea bar in the lobby on the first floor, so I could drink as much as I wanted! I sent emails with any questions and received quick replies, which was reassuring. The location was also very convenient, right next to the Nipponbashi Shopping Street, making shopping very easy. There were convenience stores and restaurants nearby, perfect for sightseeing. Overall, it was great value for money, and I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Osaka!

Eericachan888The location is quiet and close to two train stations, making it convenient for getting around. The staff are very responsible and respond quickly, even late at night. When we had a problem with the water heater in the early morning, they sent someone to fix it the next morning. The staff member in charge even spoke Chinese, which was very thoughtful and dedicated. There's a small balcony, which is great for drying clothes. If you like trains, you can also watch them pass by at the nearby station from the balcony.
Downsides: The location is a bit too secluded. In winter, it gets dark very early, and there are very few dim streetlights in the residential area. There are almost no pedestrians, so as a solo female traveler, I felt a bit scared and had to return to the guesthouse early. There are no restaurants downstairs; you have to walk to find them. The water heater was troublesome; it's a storage type, so you constantly have to check if the water level is low and manually boil water, otherwise, you won't have hot water for a shower (I discovered this when the temperature was around 1-2 degrees Celsius, but once the temperature rose, the water heater didn't take as long to heat up).

ZZithounProjectJa Hotel Shinfukae: Review Summary
⢠Cleanliness: The property is exceptionally clean and well-maintained (āneatā), which is a major plus for any traveler.
⢠Location: Excellent proximity to the local metro station, making it very convenient for exploring Osaka's main districts like Namba or Umeda.
Important Logistics to Keep in Mind
There are two specific operational details that travelers should be prepared for:
⢠Check-in Time: Standard check-in starts at 4:00 PM. This is slightly later than some traditional hotels, so plan your arrival accordingly if you have heavy luggage.
⢠Digital Check-in: The process is entirely online. Make sure you have a charged smartphone and internet access (or the check-in details saved offline) before you arrive at the property.
Pro-Tips for Shinfukae
1. Early Arrival: Since the check-in is digital and at 4:00 PM, check if the hotel offers a luggage drop-off area. If not, the nearby metro station likely has coin lockers where you can store your bags while you grab a bite nearby.
2. The Local Area: Shinfukae is a more residential, quiet part of Osaka. Itās a great place to experience a ālocalā vibe away from the neon lights of Dotonbori, with some authentic izakayas tucked away in the side streets.
3. Transit: From Shinfukae Station (Sennichimae Line), you are only a few stops away from Tsuruhashi, which is famous for its vibrant Korean market and incredible yakiniku (BBQ).

Very Good
GGuest UserThe location is quite convenient, just a 5-minute walk from the subway station. The hygiene is good, and the price is relatively affordable. Although the bathroom is small, it still has a bathtub, which is a nice touch. The self-check-in process at the unmanned front desk is generally convenient, and there are replacement toiletries provided at the entrance for guests staying multiple nights. If you're looking for good value for money, this is a solid option.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is a bit out of the way, about a 1km walk from the JR station. However, the hotel facilities are really great ā very clean and new. It's self-check-in, and there's enough space to open two 26-inch suitcases. There are also plenty of power outlets, and the bathroom is quite large with disposable toothbrushes provided. A 7-Eleven right next to the hotel is super convenient. The hotel also offers luggage storage. It's about a 1km walk to the outlet mall, but the scenery along the way is nice, so it feels like a pleasant stroll. I'm really satisfied with this hotel; I'll definitely stay longer next time. The main reason is it's quite affordable while still having excellent facilities, even if it is a bit off the beaten path, which I understand.
GGuest UserVery impressed: A Wonderful Stay ā Exceeded Expectations!
We were very impressed with our stay at this hotel in Japan. Although itās an unmanned, room-only hotel with self check-in starting at 4 PM, our experience went far beyond our expectations.
We arrived early with a large amount of luggageāfive large suitcases and four smaller bagsāand hoped to just drop them off before check-in. Fortunately, we met a hotel worker, who we believe was a housekeeper. She was incredibly kind and helpful. She immediately contacted a hotel staff member and kindly offered to take care of all our luggage, bringing it up to our room after it had been cleaned.
She also explained the self check-in procedures and how to access the building, which was very helpful since there are no staff members normally present. We didnāt expect that level of support at allāit was clearly not part of her job, but she helped us willingly and with such a great attitude. Weāre very grateful for her kindness.
The room itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The location was fantasticāclose to various train lines (railway, subway, and local), duty-free shops, convenience stores, and many other attractions.
Highly recommended! Weād definitely stay here again.
