Had a pleasant stay at Urban Suites by Urban Pleasure in Penang. The unit was clean, spacious, and comfortable for our group of 7, although I would say 6 people would be the ideal number for a more relaxing stay. The location was convenient and the facilities were quite complete, especially the swimming pool and gym. One thing we really appreciated was the washing machine and dryer, which made the trip much easier for longer stays. The view from the unit was also beautiful, especially at night when the city lights started glowing like a mini galaxy. Overall, a good and worthwhile stay for families or groups visiting Penang.

The highlight of this place is definitely the swimming pool view. The view is stunning-you can clearly see Penang Bridge, the sea, and a beautiful panoramic view of Penang. The unit itself was also clean and well-maintained. The beds, living hall, rooms, and bathrooms were all clean, which I truly appreciate.

Although we only needed a one bedroom apartment, we booked a two bedroom as that was all that was available at the time. We were really looking forward to having some space after spending the last couple of weeks in hotel rooms, so we were pleasantly surprised when we were offered a 3 bedroom apartment as none of the two bedrooms were ready. It was fabulous, lots of space and way up on the 32nd floor which makes for quite the view. Great place, the pool was fantastic and it's in a great location with a small beach out front (note this is not walkable at high tide).
Thing that could be better is a few more supplies/furnishings. Although we had a balcony, there were no tables or chairs for outside (we did ask but nothing was available) and although we had dishes and cutlery for 6 people there was only one medium sized frying pan and one medium sized saucepan, which made for some creative cooking. But we would go back again especially for a longer stay.

This hotel is excellent. It's brand new and completely odor-free. The rooms even have water purifiers for direct drinking, and hot water is readily available – a huge plus since most hotels in Malaysia don't provide bottled mineral water, and buying it outside can be quite cumbersome. The room design is superb and very well-suited for Chinese guests, with brand new kitchen utensils too. The hotel's location is also fantastic. Just a short walk away, you can catch a free bus for sightseeing around Penang. It's less than a 10-minute walk from the former site where Sun Yat-sen founded the Tongmenghui, and GAMA Supermarket is also within walking distance, offering great products at reasonable prices. You can take the free bus to many attractions. It's also conveniently located about a 30-minute drive from the airport. Plus, you can easily get to the jetty to catch a ferry to Butterworth and then take a train to Ipoh, or even directly to Kuala Lumpur. All in all, it's incredibly convenient and definitely worth staying. This hotel is a perfect choice for a trip to Penang.

Location is a bit away from old streets with tourists , which means it is quiet .
But you need to take a grab car to Art street for 10 mins , or wait for a bus . Bus stops is nearby behind the building .
You can walk to Gurney walk seaside area from hotel .

Layout is nice and comfortable. The kids love it. I like the drawers provided under the beds. Initially I was worried about lack of a cabinet for clothes. Water dispenser is very well used by us. Plenty of power sockets near the bed.
Swimming pool had a great view. Chlorine taste was crazy strong though. Kids thought the water was salty.
Biggest gripe is that this place is too popular. 4 lifts serving the 30+ levels of patrons are not sufficient. During peak periods like meal, arrival or checkout timings, we waited more than 15mins to get into the lift.
Overall very pleasant stay.

It has all the basic amenities needed but just no washing machine or USB power port. The location is ideal, just across the road there is a Family Mart at Caltex. Parking is a bit limited. The WiFi is a bit sketchy and sometimes it can lead to bad connection.

TTszHo778The day before your arrival, the room service will message you about key collection. Just show your check-in confirmation to the security guard downstairs, ask them to open the door, and grab your key from the left. Customer service will send you a comprehensive document; make sure to read it carefully, as it's very well-organized. The building is disinfected daily, and the elevators are kept clean. There's a Starbucks and a convenience store right downstairs. I was on the 22nd floor, and the noise wasn't too noticeable. The view was also quite good, and the room rate was incredibly reasonable—much better than what I experienced in Guangzhou. Unless you're staying in a high-end four or five-star hotel, I'd definitely recommend this type of serviced apartment for travel. If you're considering guesthouses in George Town and have high expectations for your accommodation, I wouldn't really suggest them. The motorcycle noise there is beyond imagination, and since it's a heritage area, their sewage system is quite old. However, if you're not particular, it can offer a unique charm. Overall, everything was great. The residents here are very friendly, and I never had to wait long for the elevator, contrary to what some online reviews mentioned. My longest wait was never more than 30 seconds. A local driver told me that this is a newer area, so the location isn't ideal for tourists if you want to walk everywhere; you'll need to take a taxi unless you're driving. But I personally found it quite good. If you plan on exploring, you'll need to taxi to George Town daily, which is usually about a 15-minute ride, so that's a bit of a downside. Otherwise, I'd choose this type of travel accommodation over a four or five-star beachfront hotel. I had a spacious apartment all to myself, which was fantastic. These are all my thoughts, and I hope they help with your decision.

JJane ThendeasThe hotel location is very strategic and convenient for traveling, but the service, especially from the receptionists, was very slow and the staff were not very friendly. The housekeeping staff were good, but it was very difficult to contact them via WhatsApp and their response time was very slow. I hope these issues can be improved in the future.

1. Fan and aircond in the living room are very old.
2. Fan and aircond in the second room also quite old.
3&4 Blanket already torn but still provided for us to use.
5.First toilet got two shampoos, second toilet got one shampoo and one shower gel — how to wash body? Need to share or use shampoo as body wash.
6.Second toilet shower pipe leaking when using.
7. Washing machine cannot be used from third day. They said will come to fix, but need to wait long — end up have to bring clothes home to wash, LOL.
8. Saw baby cockroach inside the unit.
9. Power plug in the room is loose.
10.Toilet and room got no good smell.

Not sure if you believe this — my cousin can see ghost. At night or sometimes in midnight, all of us smelled “bunga melati” (jasmine) scent. My cousin, who slept in bedroom 1, heard someone knocking the window loudly. After that, she slept in the living room instead. The smell came again, sometimes very strong and badly — all of us in the kitchen and living room could smell it. Quite creepy!
