"The hotel was really lovely. Most of the time we were greeted with friendliness. It was very clean and tidy. We changed our room from a twin to a double and there were no issues with that. I was disappointed that the spa leisure facilities were closed as it was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. Some of the decor is a bit dated but there are some lovely period features that enhance the hotels ambiance. A very good location for anyone arriving into Liverpool Lime Street."

"Right from the moment I walked through to the reception it felt very welcoming. Everything was very clean and I was soon in my room. The room was excellent with a nice view over the lake. The breakfast was brilliant with something for everybody and lots of choices. I was only staying for 2 nights but my room was cleaned and serviced after both nights . Overall it was well worth the cost."

"The hotel is right next to the University of Liverpool, but it's a bit far from the city center, about a 5-minute taxi ride or a 20-minute walk. There aren't many shops around. The hotel itself is very new and the facilities are excellent. The front desk manager was very nice."

"I have stayed at this hotel before, in October 2022. For a 3* hotel, it is fine. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the shower was a walk in type and there was plenty of hot water. Tea and coffee making facilities plus a tv. There was a good selection of food available for breakfast. The building is old and tired in places. A shame because you can see that it would have been quite grand in its heyday."

At Knowsley Inn and Lounge we promise more than a comfortable stay; but a restful experience from start to finish. Whether you are visiting for business; a weekend away; or a family break - you will find the perfect space to unwind. With options to suit every budget our rooms are a welcome stay in a convenient location just minutes from Liverpool city centre.

"Great stay at the Knowsley. The staff were friendly and there is parking which is a bonus. The rooms were generally clean but the dining area could have been cleaner - some crockery needed re-cleaning. The fire alarm went off mid way through the night but was quickly dealt with. The breakfast was OK - a good selection of food but the ingredients were of low quality and quite greasy. I'd stay here again however but would go elsewhere for breakfast."

"When we arrived, we noticed we had been given a far inferior room than we've ever had before. The view was terrible. There was no fridge which we have always had before and the room looked 'tired'...in need of TLC. I went to reception to tell them I was not happy. Anyway they did sort it. Gave us another room with a better view and the young girl on reception brought us an old, but working mini fridge.. so it worked out OK in the end ( I need a fridge to put some of my medication in.) Another lady on the desk was very curt when I said there was no fridge and stated....not all rooms automatically have a fridge in them. Sorry but I thought they did. Whoever makes loose leaf tea in the restaurant needs to learn it is 1 tsp of tea per person and 1 for the pot. In this case 3tsp of tea and not half a teapot full. I kid you not. See pic below. We got a refund for some of the tea, but nit for the cream tea my friend had. My friend had ordered a cream tea and me, just a tea. Yet they brought a pot of tea for 2, which is the wrong etiquette for an order like this. Hence we only got 2 cups out of it, because of the amount of loose tea in there. I think I have been spoiled by the superior standard of the rooms, when we have stayed before....I just presumed all their rooms would be like this"

The 4-star Mercure Haydock Hotel is set in a traditional Georgian mansion-style building, built around a central courtyard. The hotel is surrounded by its own beautifully landscaped grounds, making it a great option for those looking to unwind. Haydock Racecourse is just one-mile away, so this hotel is perfect for guests who are attending a Ladies Day or any event at the course. Luxurious décor and comfortable Standard, Privilege and Suite room options are perfect for relaxation after busy days.

"Booked for Haydock Races however the race day got cancelled unfortunately.  We were a group of 10 and still went to the hotel.  We went into Newton Le Willow had drinks and a curry.  Hotel is nice however looking tired.  Towel rail was on roasting all day/night which made the bathroom far too hot.  Otherwise a nice room."

Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious and clean, and it came with a kettle and coffee. The location is incredibly convenient, not only close to the docks – perfect for an evening stroll after dinner – but also right next to James Street Station, which makes it super easy to visit nearby cities like Chester. This hotel offers great value for money. If I had to mention any downsides: there's no breakfast, and both elevators were out of order during checkout. I had to walk down from the 5th floor, but thankfully I didn't have much luggage.

I stayed at the Pullman Liverpool Hotel for one night as a last-minute booking after reading several reviews and watching a few TikTok videos—and I’m glad I did. On arrival, I was greeted warmly, checked in quickly, and made my way up to my room without any hassle. I had emailed ahead requesting a nice view as it was my first time in Liverpool. I was placed on the 8th floor, which was great, but unfortunately my view overlooked the roof of another building. I did ask if this could be changed, but the hotel was fully booked due to the Easter break, which I completely understood. The room itself was comfortable and overall made for a pleasant stay. The location is a big plus—just a short walk to the Liverpool Museum, bars, restaurants, the wheel, and plenty of shops for a bit of retail therapy. Parking is quite expensive, but the hotel does stamp your ticket which gives you a discount. I checked in at 3:30pm, checked out at 12, and paid £18 for parking—without the discount, it could easily cost 5–8 times more. Now for the negatives: cleanliness could definitely be improved. I met some of the cleaners when checking out—lovely, friendly staff—but the room needed more attention. There was dust on surfaces, hair on the tissue container, only two tissues left, the bathroom and mirrors weren’t cleaned thoroughly, and the shower gel hadn’t been refilled, so after a few pumps there was none left. Overall, despite the cleaning issues, I had a pleasant stay and would definitely consider staying here again.

This was one of the worst hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. When we arrived, we were greeted by a pleasant front desk clerk. The lobby has a lot of character in keeping with the Titanic theme and the pictures of the rooms had the same theme. We arrived at our room (fourth floor #46) located on a dark hallway that was being painted. The room was large and also had some plush features like the curtains, furniture, chandelier and wallpaper. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. Our room was very hot, with no ventilation and one small fan. The desk clerk offered to bring a second fan when we requested a hair dryer, but the second fan never arrived. The windows could not be opened even a crack ”due to safety reasons”. The room was sweltering and sleeping was extremely uncomfortable. In addition, the carpet was very dirty, there was mold on the wall above the bathtub and the sink, the lights beside the beds needed to be replaced, and the towel rack was missing from the wall. There was a small kitchen which was nice, but it was missing the basics (glassware, silverware, plates) and one of the drawers was missing its front. In short, the room was in bad shape and we are very surprised they would host anyone in that room. In the lobby, there was a young man sitting at the Concierge desk and when we asked him for directions, he said he was security and had no idea. He could not have been less interested and barely looked up from his phone. Apparently, the rooftop bar is nice, but we did not go there. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and are pretty easy going when it comes to our expectations. This hotel has so much potential, but the experience was a huge disappointment and we would not stay there again and cannot recommend anyone stay there.

The hotel was ideally situated where we didn't have to walk far to the venues which were approx 6-10 minutes walk. The hotel has a large underground car park that kept our car safe and secure, not many hotels have a bar and seating for guests which we thought was convenient, the room was modern, very clean and loved the high pressure shower that is adjustable, breakfast was lovely we prefer a full English with all the trimmings, though there is the continental option and as it was a buffet we ate as much as we pleased. Lots of things to do and see in Liverpool and a large shopping centre that we discovered on our way back from the Cavern club and eateries on the dock side All in all a brilliant first stay in this hotel and 2nd time in Liverpool...oh and a shout out to the receptionist who helped me with our parking, very patient. We are planning our next stay at this hotel for the near future.

Great hostel, it’s clean and the rooms are well kept. The beds are amazingly comfortable with a small shelf to keep your phone and watch to charge while you sleep. The vibe is great and it’s very vintage style. Location is amazing. Easy to all public transport, so many shops to eat or get groceries from. Bars and pubs are at your fingertips. The only downside to this hostel is its in room bathroom. Unfortunately this hostel fails majorly on this. I was in an 8 bed dorm, and there was 1 toilet and 2 showers. (Luckily there was only 3 people in my room for my 2 nights) so we could manage. BUT the showers are absolutely awful it has no independent tap for hot or cold water, it has a push button for water and the push button only lasts 3 seconds (SO GUESS WHAT YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE BUTTON IN CONSTANTLY TO SHOWER) so you have one hand to shower with if you want constant water on you, BUT guess what…. The shower hot water is non existent the hot water is hot like a swimming pool on a hot summers day or luke warm at the best. So if you think you going to have a good shower after a long day of exploring or you get filthy from a night out, surprise you going to have the most awful shower. So you gotta pick awful shower for a comfy bed and clean room or stay somewhere else. If I visit Liverpool again I’d skip this hostel only for the fact that I like a nice hot shower at the end of the day to unwind with before going to bed.
