Hangzhou Theatre Festival | Hangzhou
Celebration
This art festival will last until October 4. The 12-day drama journey will bring together 10 excellent domestic and foreign drama works and 20 performances. Citizens can not only enjoy the drama feast in the theater, but also feel the charm of art outside the theater.
This Hangzhou Contemporary Drama Season brings together many excellent domestic and foreign drama works. Between classics and cutting-edge, between originality and adaptation, between verification and exploration, many young dramatists will write wonderful stage stories with the audience on the drama stage in Hangzhou. Meng Jinghui's "24 Hours in a Woman's Life", "Three Quarters Classics" collectively created by three young actors from Hangzhou Drama Art Center, and the large-scale Chinese style original dance drama "Xi Shi" are three works that pay tribute to classic masterpieces, strive to break the shackles of context, complete cross-era artistic dialogues, and create a very personal style of dramatic aesthetic expression. In the works "Time Has Come to the Second Half" and "Victory", young artists use their vivid works to fully and spare no effort to reflect the individual dilemma and self-consistency under the torrent of the times, so that the possibility of each of us being connected with the times remains in the theater. In contemporary theater, the boundary between truth and illusion is blurred between the audience seats, and the ritual of the theater is maximized. "Juliet, Romeo and Others" co-created by the art group ensemble.M from Hamburg and "Murder in the Hanging Garden" directed by Meng Jinghui will bring the audience a visual and audio feast with unique characteristics and personal styles of the artists. "Game Pause" and "He and She" both depict each of our ordinary and great "ordinary days" with the softest perspective.
12-day drama journey, 4 major theme activities, immersive into the gap between drama and life:
Liberate your body with professional dancers, actors, and artists, tour the city in a drama caravan, chat and read drama online 24 hours a day, and inadvertently encounter cleverly "frozen" drama scenes... It's all within reach and can be reached on foot. In a flash, you can immerse yourself in this carnival.
This year is the "co-creation" year of Hangzhou Contemporary Theater Season. For the first time, it surprisingly crosses over to join hands with TAO Dance Theater to create a limited theater day. Young theater people and audiences dance freely in the space and create new forms of theater stories together. The "Sunset" theater caravan shuttles through Hangzhou, fully integrating into the lives of citizens, spreading the energy of theater in the streets and alleys and the hustle and bustle of traffic. It joins hands with Hangzhou Hive Classic Event Brand "Tonight We Read Theater" to start a warm and soft night with environmental theater readings. The "Poster Exhibition" unites multiple literary and artistic spaces and well-known brands in Hangzhou, eagerly looking for theater audiences across the city to check in, and spread the wonderful visuals of Hangzhou Theater Season over the years all over the streets and alleys.
