Global Village — the whole world in one place
This is a massive open-air fair featuring pavilions from over 90 countries. In just one evening, you can "visit" Iran, South Korea, Egypt, or Italy, taste street food from every corner of the globe, and watch world-class shows. The venue operates seasonally (usually from October to April), making it an absolute must-do for a winter trip to Dubai.
How to get there?
The park is located on the outskirts of the city, so the metro doesn't go all the way there.
· By bus: Special express buses (routes 102, 103, 104, and 106) run from the Union, Al Ghubaiba, Max, and Mall of the Emirates metro stations. Fares are paid using a Nol card.
· By taxi: A ride from downtown (Dubai Mall) takes about 20–30 minutes.
· By car: There's a giant, zoned parking lot for drivers. Be sure to memorize or snap a photo of your sector number, otherwise, you'll be looking for your car for a long time.
What to do inside?
· Pavilion shopping: Each pavilion sells authentic goods—spices from India, dates from Saudi Arabia, leather goods from Morocco, or Korean cosmetics.
· Foodie tour: Try Thai donuts, Turkish kumpir, Bosnian kebabs, or the famous Floating Market featuring Asian street food.
· Carnaval amusement park: A zone filled with roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, and classic carnival games.
· Live shows: Every evening, dancers, stuntmen, and musicians perform on the main stage and in the pavilions.
· Ripley’s Believe It or Not!: The region's only museum of oddities and fascinating artifacts (separate ticket required).
Handy tips
· Tickets: It's cheaper to buy them online via the Global Village app—you'll save about 10% and skip the ticket office lines.
· Dress code: Wear your most comfortable shoes. The area is massive, and you can easily clock 10,000 to 15,000 steps in an evening.
· Ladies' days: On Tuesdays, entry is restricted to women and families with children (excluding public holidays).
· Timing: Arrive right at opening time (usually 4:00 PM). After 7:00 PM, it gets extremely crowded, especially on weekends.
Pro tip:
Wait until the evening when all the pavilions light up. You'll get the most stunning photos against the backdrop of miniature world landmarks like the Taj Mahal or the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
