World Premiere by Kati Agócs and works of Dohnányi and Mustonen The Belvedere Series presents the world premiere of a horn trio by renowned composer Kati Agócs . Agócs, a Guggenheim Fellow and winner of the Arts and Letters Award, has been praised by the New York Times for her "elemental strength and generous lyricism." The premiere will feature James Sommerville , former principal horn of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, alongside pianist Ingrid Keller and violinist Domenic Salerni.   Paired with Dohnányi ’s second piano quintet, a work that envelops the listener in its brooding depths. This extraordinary piece masterfully balances lyrical melodies with rich, emotional complexity, showcasing the intimate dialogue between piano and strings.    Lastly, prepare for a thrilling conclusion to our fourth season with Olli Mustonen ’s Nonet No. 2, a vibrant showcase for a nine-person chamber ensemble. (21+ Step back in time with the glitz and glamour of the Roaring '20s at the highly anticipated return of Richmond's GATSBY GALA - this time in the Spring! Previously hosted on New Year's Eve, event organizers After Dark RVA decided to move this very popular celebration to Springtime so more can join in! Join us on May 30th at the historic Hofheimer Building, where the echoes of the Jazz Age will transport you to the era of the Great Gatsby, flappers, bootleggers and Prohibition. The Hofheimer Building takes a swinging dance step back into time 100 years as we ring in the New Year with a glamorous1920s themed GATSBY GALA at the Historic Hofheimer Building (21+). The Richmond GATSBY GALA experience includes: Live early 20th century dance music with the GRACE STREET SEVEN , a swingin' hot 7-piece Jazz band (performing 9pm-11:30pm), complete with a DANCE-OFF contest . Featured and Roaming Photographers (photos available online afterwards) Electro Swing music with DJ Tony-T (8-9pm, 11:30pm-1am) Vintage Fashion Contest (sign-up info. at event) Themed 1920s Cocktails (along with a full bar selection, with beer and wine) Keepsake GATSBY GAZETTE newspaper , printed just for this event. I’m a 22-year-old opera singer. I’ll perform my best pieces to an audience but my teacher will roast me there. Pls don't leave me alone. It is not just me, there are two other opera singers. I got all of us into this situation and we're cooked if we don't have people to watch us. Pls pls pls help us young singers. It is actually fun, you don't have to like opera you will definitely like the show. PS: We will do special shoutouts to the people who sign up from here. We're actually good too so honestly great.
