Daisy Chute celebrates upcoming release of her album 'Throne' An eclectic mix of folk, Americana, indie, classical and jazz influences inform Daisy’s work and this record is no exception. THE DELLA GRANTS Bio Established in Leicester’s West End back in 2014 The DG’s one and only line-up is now a decade in. Max Manning and Tom Best front the band on stage; sharing out the vocal, guitar, and harmonica duties. The bands’ rhythm section consists of Andy Boulton on bass & Tom Walker on drums, who (along with Manning) have been playing together for almost twenty five years. As of 2017 the band have been frequently joined on stage by highly accomplished musician & good friend Tony Robinson who provides organ, piano, & trumpet. This is our 10th Annual Big Sleepout and every year fundraisers tell us they are left with a humbling and thought provoking experience as well as a better understanding of the life some of our most vulnerable local people face. Helping Hands Community Project works with people needing support with issues such as homelessness, mental health, domestic abuse, poverty, addiction, isolation and provides services, supported volunteering and skills support to the people they support to a place of confidence to lead their life to their full potential. Will you join us and brave the cold? Find out what it's like to spend a night on the streets. Join us on the 10th October 2025 for our 10th annual event that aims to give you an insight into homelessness and the factors that can cause homelessness. We'll have a range of speakers on various topics from a number of organisations and walks of life and Soup kitchen style food will be served in the evening before settling down in our cardboard boxes and waterproof sheets for the night. This year we've extended the event to include a Dawn Walk from the Parish Church around Leamington finishing back at our offices on Althorpe Street for breakfast. It's time for spooks and ghouls and freaks and fools, as award-winning storyteller Jason Buck brings heroes and horrors to life in Leamington's Foundry Wood (details below). Parking and accessibility : Please see the wood's website here www.foundrywood.co.uk/location Seating : Some log stump seats and rustic benches are provided, but you may wish to bring camping chairs for extra comfort. Lights / lighting: There is no artificial lighting in the woods so, while the performance area will have light and the paths will be illuminated with small lights, it is recommended to bring a torch or use your phone's light. Clothing : Please dress for the weather, the time of year, and for being in a woodland (flat shoes are recommended). If the event can't go ahead because of bad weather, your ticket will be refunded in full. Unlike most singer songwriters who wear their hearts prominently on their sleeves, Randy Newman often writes in character - his songs feature a rogue’s gallery of dodgy types, ordinary joes, sleaze-balls,, giving many of his songs a determinedly edgy atmosphere. His songs can be acerbic but also hysterically funny - You’re Dead is an ode to a washed out rock star who still insists on treading the boards, and The World Isn't Fair is a debunking of capitalism, addressed to Karl Marx. There are also tender and affecting songs - Louisiana 1927, and I Miss You (an exquisite song, with the slight sting in its tail being that he wrote it for his first wife, while with his second).
