"ULTRA JAPAN" is the Japanese version of the world's largest urban dance music festival "ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL" (UMF), which originated in Miami, USA in 1999. As a pioneer of dance music festivals, UMF is now held in 27 countries and regions around the world. Over the past 10 events, top DJs and music producers from around the world have continuously attracted audiences with their vibrant and energetic dance music. In addition to the spectacular performance by Margo Fireworks, hailed as the "magicians of fireworks," Akagi Fireworks, renowned for its innovative drone performances, will also present a spectacular fireworks display combining dynamic lights and stunning sound effects.

Every autumn, Konno Hachimangu Shrine hosts one of Shibuya's largest festivals. Weekends feature a variety of events, including Shinto dance performances (Kagura) and, the biggest event of all, large mikoshi processions through Aoyama and Shibuya. The highlight is Sunday, when all 14 shrines gather in front of Shibuya 109. Street vendors also visit the shrines on weekends, where you can buy food and soak in the festive atmosphere. A smaller festival takes place starting at 6 p.m., marking the eve of Sunday's big celebrations. The highlight is the large parades, which take place through Aoyama in the morning and Shibuya in the afternoon. Between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., 14 mikoshi, carried by locals, converge in front of Shibuya 109 before returning to their respective neighborhoods.

The popular autumn fireworks festival, held concurrently with the Tama River Fireworks Festival, will have its 2026 theme "Soaring Through the Night Sky, Soaring into New Life," presenting a brand-new style of fireworks event connecting to the future. The Setagaya district, rich in local customs and unique culture, will be transformed into a giant ring of light, allowing audiences to fully enjoy an artistic night of light, shadow, and sound. Fireworks will be launched simultaneously at two venues along the Tama River, Setagaya and Kawasaki, forming the biggest highlight. Under the clear autumn sky, approximately 6,000 large fireworks will bloom simultaneously, and a lively fireworks festival will be held throughout the day with various activities and booths. A Tama River cleanup will also be held the following day (Sunday, October 4th) from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

The first immersive event themed around "Night sky" and "Dance" from the TV anime series "The apothecary diaries" will be held. The theme of this event is "night sky" × "dance." Set against the backdrop of "Tokyo City View," located 250 meters above sea level, the event showcases a fantastical dance scene featuring characters like Maomao and Jinshi, enhanced by special effects unique to the observatory. As the first event focusing on the "dance" scenes from the work, it delivers an emotionally rich space that expresses both breathtaking views and the delicate emotions of the characters. The exhibition area features displays that look back on the journey so far, including symbolic scenes and memorable quotes from the works, along with exhibits making their debut in Japan. Additionally, you can enjoy a variety of content, including original event-exclusive merchandise. The "Kuroku Matsuri" (Bukuro Festival) began in 1968 and is a festival initiated and organized by four shops near the west exit of Ikebukuro Station. This year marks its 59th edition. During the portable shrine procession, 15 large portable shrines and thousands of people carrying their hands gather near the west exit of Ikebukuro Station, creating a grand spectacle. The lively shouts will echo throughout the city, immersing the audience in the festive atmosphere. Song and dance performances will also be held at Ikebukuro West Exit Park. Several local restaurants will also set up stalls in the area. Come and enjoy delicious food while soaking up the festive atmosphere.

This exhibition marks Mariko Mori's first solo museum exhibition in Japan in 24 years, since "Mariko Mori: Pure Land" at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo in 2002. This major solo exhibition brings together approximately 80 works from her more than 30-year career, encompassing various media including interactive installations, sculptures, video, photography, painting, and performance art. The exhibition will present representative works from Mori's early to recent periods in chronological order, and will also publicly display related documents and archives for the first time.

Since the formation of Earth, the Earth's environment has undergone tremendous changes. Organisms that have adapted to this diverse and ever-changing environment have reproduced and written the long history of life's evolution. This exhibition will comprehensively introduce the adaptive evolution and survival strategies of these organisms, as well as the traits and functions they have acquired. Furthermore, the exhibition collaborates with the NHK nature program "Darwin is Here!", utilizing specimens and materials from the National Museum of Nature and Science, research findings, and a large amount of video footage produced by NHK to explore the environmental adaptations and survival strategies of these animals one by one. The "Superworld of Life" exhibition will focus on the "amazing abilities and strategies" that organisms acquire in adapting to different environments.
