SMOKE: A Ballad of the Night RidersThe calm farming communities of The Black Patch are just a generation removed from the dark and suppressed history of The Tobacco Wars. In a story that still unfolds today, SMOKE: A Ballad of the Night Riders, sheds light on the corporate greed that turned farmer against farmer, brother against brother, and gave rise to the masked vigilantes: The Night Riders. In an open air theater that surrounds audiences with the sweet smell of Dark Fired Tobacco from the descendants of these very farmers, SMOKE’s fiery bluegrass score propels audiences into the lives of one farming family and the impossible decisions that plowed a deep and lasting wound on The Black Patch forever. 6:00 pm - Festival grounds open6:30 pm - Pavilion and Grass Seating opens7:00 pm - Show BeginsAny arrivals after 7:00 will not be seated until intermission. Yoga Sports & Fitness
Support two amazing local nonprofits with a very special yoga class with horses at Breezy Hill Farm in Holliston. Instructor Judy Thapa will lead the outdoor class, set in the pasture home to a dozen horses, rescued by Project Comeback, who will be roaming in the near vicinity. For horse and attendee safety, our yoga practice space will be roped off from the herd. Curious horses may pass by to see the yoga class. If not, following class, you will have a chance to take a guided walk to meet some of the horses. Proceeds from this yoga class will be split between two local nonprofits working to support veterans and first responders: Warrior Within Yoga Project and Project Comeback. Warrior Within Yoga Project's mission is to equip veterans, service members and first responders with the tools and training to manage stress, increase resilience and promote post-traumatic growth. They offer free specialty yoga classes to the military and first responder community. The mission of Project ComeBack is to reeducate rescued horses through a series of experiences with a variety of people; the first target audience being veterans. In the past, WWYP & Project ComeBack have partnered together to offer programs that integrate yoga with equine therapy for veterans. Your support helps to fund programs like these. $25 General Admission; $15 for Veterans & First Responders Bring your own mat. All sales final. We appreciate your donation. Rain date: Sunday, September 29th 9:30-10:45am. Parking Info: Parking is available on Gorwin Drive. Very limited parking is available in a dirt lot adjacent to the yoga class. Absolutely no parking on Adams St or the Breezy Hill Farm stables across the road. About the horses: Project ComeBack's mission is to reeducate rescued horses through a series of experiences with a variety of people. Some of the horses in the herd are more familiar with people while others prefer to be left in the company of other horses. It is a large pasture and cannot guarantee which or how many horses will show their curiosity to watch the yoga class or be interested in meet and greets afterwards. As part of their reintegration process, please respect their boundaries. Information Source: Warrior Within Yoga Project | eventbrite
