The Essar Chester Half Marathon is one of the UK’s most iconic and well-loved half marathons, held in the historic city of Chester, renowned for its Roman and Medieval heritage. With a flat, scenic course on fully closed roads, this race offers an excellent opportunity for runners of all abilities to achieve their personal bests. As part of the Chester Triple series, participants can also aim for the coveted Triple Medal by completing three Chester events. Organized by passionate runners, the event features thoughtful extras like free training runs, pace teams, and seminars to help participants prepare. On race day, enjoy a friendly atmosphere with events for all, including a 1-mile Fun Run. This year, the race will serve as a qualifier for the England Athletics and Welsh Athletics Age Group Masters Half Marathon Championship, making it a key event for competitive athletes. Additionally, the event supports charitable giving, inviting runners to join the cause for Claire House Children's Hospice or their own selected charities.
